Go back and reread his posts on this site, starting in January. If that doesn't answer your questions about what in blazes is really going on here, nothing will. So i was right, just the mention of his name in the same sentence with Adya made you go all ego wacky. The one who seems to have the most trouble 'applying quotes' from those teachers is you. Let me quote from the troll manual again:

Ironically, I had just been thinking about suggesting a disparagement thread. I was going to title it "The Foodfight Thread," and suggest that anyone who has a beef with someone's understanding, postings, level of attainment, clarity, motivation, etc. could go there and sling food (mud) to their heart's content. If we had such a thread, then some of us could ignore that thread completely, and enjoy following a single line of investigation, commentary, etc. without having to wade through endless personal attacks. One of the reasons I was happy to see an unmoderated thread show up was for the value of winnowing out a lot of posts that I knew wouldn't interest me. A foodfight thread would be fantastic if everyone would agree to it. Of course, I realize that there might have to be a separate "Foodfight with Enigma" thread because he attracts such vitriolic antipathy. Ha ha. If everyone could agree on such a thread, then the moderator, poor guy, would have the task of transferring any personal attacks that showed up in all of the other threads. Seriously, as it is now, I sometimes have to wade through endless pages of boring back-and-forth bickering while searching for a post I saw (but didn't have time to respond to) that deserves a serious response. This is certainly something that I would vote for if enough forum members expressed an interest in it. FWIW I have great respect for everyone who posts on this forum. I am constantly astonished at the brilliant writing that often appears here, and for the range of insights that people have. Some people are so clear or so honest that I always read their posts, but all posts that stay on topic are usually interesting. It's the personal jabs that I find regrettable, and the one or two times that I've done that myself, have left me afterwards thinking, "You blithering idiot; there must have been a more skillful way of making that point without attacking someone's understanding or character." The most recent occasion where I did that was on the Strange Woo thread, and Figless rightfully challenged what I had done. I often do stupid things, but if there had been a foodfight thread available at that time, it would probably have prevented a stupid thought from appearing anywhere except in my head. Well the split is in place now -- moderation of the moderated section is all that's left to implement your vision. How long did that split last? A month? It's not wanted, really. It just was the result of some silly projections of some silly folks. If you look at it now, who is the most abusive? The alleged mockers or those who felt the need to quarantine them? That forum split was insanity in action.

So you got all that from an Adya link posted in response to a post mentioning reefs? I gave you an opportunity to offer a different explanation from the obvious, but you chose to just affirm your dislike for Reefs again. Even "second hand quote" is an odd term. A quote is an original quote, by definition. Besides, that misses the point that she didn't find it on the Adya site, she found it on mine, which seems to irk you too. Do you still believe you can just choose to be happy? Seems like if that were so, everybody would be choosing that all the time, eh? Meet Verby again:

You gave me the opportunity? LoL SQ mentioned she wasn't aware of Adya in a recent post. The link was provided prior to that post. How you arrived at irked likely has something to do with not seeing what in blazes is going on. Your 'seems like' metaphor seems more like your take on it. Which is why I don't read there. I understand where you're coming from as a result of reading you here. That doesn't 'seem like' it's possible, since you have no understanding of yourself. You're running on auto-pilot and you don't know it. That's why things like 'malignant little bastard' fall out of your mouth at inopportune times for no apparent reason. I've noticed that he gets extra happy when his forum friends are flinging poo at his/their foes and especially when it looks as if that poo flinging is effective. However, when sanity returns to the forum again and his friends look like total nut jobs again, he gets extra angry.

And sanity only returns to the forum when you and enigma are working closely together, right? We call it 7th Day Non Dualism on this end.

The insanity here seems to come in waves, and runs it's course on it's own. It looks like one member goes unconscious, and then some others are caught up in the tide and pulled along. It's really a bit odd.

She responds to any and all insanity here with approval, so when she's happy with the comments (and crystal clear about what they say) then we're about to reach critical mass.
