As to us to disabuse
Illusions lack of light

All reasoned explanation
Drolls out just oh so flat
Mind that jumped-up athlete

As to slip by the repast
Disarm the bold defenses and
Untie you from the mast
Then Freedoms sail flown wildly
Across the sea would rave
And in each instant God would kiss
Your cheek with broken wave

You are right in front of you, painted all around
On each scent of every breeze and in each subtle sound
In the gentle fond caress
And always within sight
In all and each direction
No way is there more right
Do not strain to know this
Relax and just let go

Once, back in the early 80's when my children were young , we spent a day at the zoo in San Antonio. My brother-in-law lent me his video camera and I was eager to record the family enjoying the day. At a certain point the kids entered the playground area and were having great fun swinging and jumping and climbing. My daughter, about 4, had climbed up on a little platform from which she was fearful of climbing down off of. As I was videotaping the kids this daughter started to call to out to me..."Daddy, get me down. Daddy, get me down...Daddy, get me down". I felt the urge to go help her but, for some inexplicable reason, I was compelled to keep right on recording as if I was simply an un-involved witness to the scene. Her calls became a bit more persistent but I keep right on recording her silently...objectively. Finally, after several minutes of urgent pleas for help my daughter decided that she would try to get herself down. I recorded every tight hand hold and tentative foot placement as she struggled to find her way. Finally, she was on the ground, and in beaming triumph, she turned around toward the camera with a priceless ear to ear grin, and proclaimed with new self confidence "Daddy, I got down!". What I learned that day was that it is a funny thing that can happen when sometimes we remain aloof and detached and leave the other with the space (grace) to find their own way as much as we might want to help them out.

The other three kids on that day who tried the same fell down and broke their neck.
