I just had a quick read through all the posts in this new section. It seems to me that people are more respectful and thoughtful towards others than they are in the moderated sections, well except for reefs, he hasn't changed one bit. Isn't that funny. In the moderated area, people lash out at others far more than in the unmoderated area. If this keeps up i would regard the unmoderated section a success in better communication.
However, to me, a rigorous testing of this new section would be if enigma and reefs engaged others with thier guns ablazing, of which they are not at the moment, seeing as the majority of disturbances involved those two. But then again, why spoil a good thing. Perhaps the reason the unmoderated section seems better is because reefs and enigma are not heavily involved in the discussions.
But to be impartial and fair, disturbances only occur when people are offended by others. As i learnt on my journey, regardless of whether disturbing the inner peace of people is intentional or not, it is up to the listener to develop self control so as not to be disturbed by external forces. For when one is internally still and calm, when one is not tossed to and fro by emotional storms, then one can still observe and think clearly, thus choose wisely and lovingly how to respond, thus not add to the intentional or unintentional unproductive relationship\interaction.

Thanks for the link James. As for this : I wonder if you and earnest would have responded to me if i never expressed my interest that no one said hello to me after 77 views. Oh wait, i don't have to wonder, it actually happened, no one said anything to me after 77 views, apart from laughter saying hello. No one responded to my first post(33 views), why, i do not know...apart from my speculation that it is not something anyone wanted to discuss, which is ok with me, as i do not discuss things i am not interested in. Laughter only responded after my second post, why, i do not know apart from the second post must have contained something that changed his mind about me. And only you and earnest have expressed you appreciate my input, but only after i expressed that i find it interesting no one had said hello. The bottom line is, no one said hello upon my return, and no one engaged in communication, apart from laughter, until i expressed my interest that no one said hello. Wonder no longer. I was just not checking the forum as often as I used to, and wasn't aware of the new sub-forum for a while as I browse from via bookmarks. Happy travels on Spirit Science. Sweet, and thanks for the info. How wonderful is communication. I shall be introducing myself at SpiSci sometime this week.

Zen story time !
There once lived a great warrior. Though quite old, he still was able to defeat any challenger. His reputation extended far and wide throughout the land and many students gathered to study under him. One day an infamous young warrior arrived at the village. He was determined to be the first man to defeat the great master.
Along with his strength, he had an uncanny ability to spot and exploit any weakness in an opponent. He would wait for his opponent to make the first move, thus revealing a weakness, and then would strike with merciless force and lightning speed. No one had ever lasted with him in a match beyond the first move.
Much against the advice of his concerned students, the old master gladly accepted the young warrior’s challenge. As the two squared off for battle, the young warrior began to hurl insults at the old master.
He threw dirt and spit in his face. For hours he verbally assaulted him with every curse and insult known to mankind. But the old warrior merely stood there motionless and calm.
Finally, the young warrior exhausted himself. Knowing he was defeated, he left feeling shamed.
Somewhat disappointed that he did not fight the insolent youth, the students gathered around the old master and questioned him, “How could you endure such an indignity? How did you drive him away?”
“If someone comes to give you a gift and you do not receive it,” the master replied, “to whom does the gift belong?”

There once was a monastery that was very strict. Following a vow of silence, no one was allowed to speak at all. But there was one exception to this rule. Every ten years, the monks were permitted to speak just two words.
After spending his first ten years at the monastery, one monk went to the head monk. “It has been ten years,” said the head monk. “What are the two words you would like to speak?”
“Bed… hard…” said the monk.
“I see,” replied the head monk.
Ten years later, the monk returned to the head monk’s office. “It has been ten more years,” said the head monk. “What are the two words you would like to speak?”
“Food… stinks…” said the monk.
“I see,” replied the head monk.
Yet another ten years passed and the monk once again met with the head monk who asked, “What are your two words now, after these ten years?”
“I… quit!” said the monk.
“Well, I can see why,” replied the head monk. “All you ever do is complain.”

One day Chuang Tzu and a friend were walking by a river. “Look at the fish swimming about,” said Chuang Tzu, “They are really enjoying themselves.”
“You are not a fish,” replied the friend, “So you can’t truly know that they are enjoying themselves.”
“You are not me,” said Chuang Tzu. “So how do you know that I do not know that the fish are enjoying themselves?”

A student confided in Suzuki Roshi that she had tremendous feelings of love for him, and that it confused her.
“Don’t worry,” he said. “You can let yourself have all the feelings you have for your teacher. That’s good. I have enough discipline for both of us.”

A student once asked, “What is the difference between a Man of Tao and a little man?” The Zen Master replied, “It is simple. When the little man becomes a student, he can hardly wait to run home and shout at the top of his voice to tell everyone. Upon hearing the words of the master, he will climb to the rooftops and shout to the people. Upon learning the ways of the master, he will parade through town telling one and all about his new knowledge”.
The Zen Master continues, “When the Man of Tao becomes a student, he will bow his head in gratitude. Upon hearing the words of the master, he will bow his head and his shoulders. Upon learning the ways of the master, he will bow to the waist and quietly walk alongside the wall so that people will not see him or notice him”.

If they did, people would notice them.

Sweet ! My hope is that it will be as enriching as SF was in the good old days. I shall see you there sometime this week. I have bookmarked 3-4 threads i want to share in and one slight confrontation\inquiry\challenge\observation thingy, just to see how confrontations go there. And i forgot to mention they have a psychology section...and in the style of Zorg from The Fifth Element, "My favorite!" It's 7am , sun is just coming up, time for a TT walk.
