Oh, I can do that, Laughter. Not to worry. I understand what you're saying and it is sound advice, but there are extremes that we are dealing with here - it just doesn't seem that way to you Because it just so happens that you see things exactly as they do - does it not seem that in this, you are just as much a 'rescuer' as they've accused Top and a few others at times? Those who accuse others of being drama queens and rescuers are themselves The Biggest Drama Queens and Rescuers. I do not see things exactly as they do and I'm not trying to be offensive but if you've drawn that conclusion then you haven't been paying attention. That makes two of us.

In the event that you eventually find yourself on a hook, the quickest and least painful way out of it is to stop biting. I like to think of the game as playing with hand grenades. Some folks lob them in your general direction. You can catch it, pick it up, lie on top of it. But it won't do nuthin unless you pull the pin. Your stop biting advice would be similar to not pulling the pin. That's the winning non-move.

Okay, now back to Reeds... Since he, himself asserts that 'temp bans never work,' can we get the poll/thread title to 'A Vote to Permanently Ban Reef's'? (not that I'm voting, either way). www.proboards.com/forum-directory

Gain suspicion of a trap, uh-huh. Then, they deride you for imagining the trap, and the dancing giraffes come out. Face it, laffey, there's nothing one can do but point out what in blazes is going on, while they're being pulled in for the kill. You need not voice your suspicions as they arise. Pretty much a failsafe system to silence others.

Indeed, once your on the hook and being reeled in, it is rather pointless to point out that you're being reeled for the kill. Still, once you've been reeled in enough, and have survived, at some point, you're bound to be compelled to something.

In the event that you eventually find yourself on a hook, the quickest and least painful way out of it is to stop biting. That means to cease engaging, cease posting altogether. Not that they would mind that, either, because it only helps to prove their domination of the place. Mind you, I don't believe that any of this is done on a conscious level. It's really more a ... dynamic. Others have alluded to it. I'm just being more straight and purposeful about it, I guess, at least currently. No, just stop posting content relevant to the trap. The perception of domination is one that you create.

You created it too, laffey. The mind hooks concept was yours, not mine, and others agreed. You were right. Nice catch (no pun intended ).

No, just stop posting content relevant to the trap. The perception of domination is one that you create. abracadabra - but, no So someone thinks the thought for you and pops it into your head whole with no intercession on your part whatsoever?

You need not voice your suspicions as they arise. Pretty much a failsafe system to silence others. You need not remain completely silent. You can always choose to change the subject.
