The question that crosses my mind in all of this is what about ALL (the majority, apparently) are seeming that what I did here is an affront to their sensibilities about rules or etiquette, etc. - I think you see where I'm going with all of this - rules - are not only unnecessary, but stifling to our first amendment rights - or whatever that number is - free speech? No one here seems to want any rules and play down the 'need' some others feel for small bit of decorum. I could just have easily - and probably should have - just posted an edited version of it and not tell anybody its origin - and none would be the wiser. So, I guess that makes me untrustworthy in Reefs' eyes - and a couple of others here. Why, after all the conflabs about someones being banned unfairly and all the talk about rules being in actuality an undesirable thing. Does this seem as hypocritical to you as it does me? If you can't be trusted, then it makes you untrustworthy. It has nothing to do with forum rules.

If you can't be trusted, then it makes you untrustworthy. It has nothing to do with forum rules. How much can anybody trust anybody? Nobody is 100%, nobody. You choose not to get down to specifics - and conversely, have no desire to take in / on the big picture, so what-ever. You've chosen not to read what I wrote to perform your usual 'exercises' on forum members - certain ones seem to be a delectable target for you and Reefs, so trust me - I'm not surprised.

OK, no body cares that you posted the pm ... but it seems the OP is nothing more than two old hens gossiping behind everyone's back so what's the point? The point was, that the other hen had something to say about Silver that Silver liked very much (bee stuff).

I didn't post it for that - I simply thought all that other stuff about the forum was cute and funny. I thought it was a very creative way of describing their take on the place. I have more to say - later.

If you can't be trusted, then it makes you untrustworthy. It has nothing to do with forum rules. How much can anybody trust anybody? Nobody is 100%, nobody. Irrelevant to the point I was making. You're making a point about forum rules, which has nothing to do with trustworthiness. Since it doesn't, your point doesn't make sense.

Yes, granted, the pm I shared was no great shakes, as farmer pointed out.
For me, though, it highlights this whole idea of confidences. How many 'secrets' have been shared and then eventually shared between nonparticipants in this 'secret'? And, why do some folks feel affronted by my action? Even if this 'secret' I shared is deemed no BFD?
Consider how some people view media 'news'. Many don't bother watching or reading because it's sad and disturbing or fairly empty of any real meaning. Some set their watches by it. There seems to be no in between sentiments about 'news'.
Now, we have this Snowden affair going on, and of all the news stories out there in the past few days, this is the one uppermost on my mind, wondering about what all will transpire in the end. I read the comments about the news story and seems that the majority are rooting for Mr. Snowden - he's become a hero of sorts, given the fact that the general public has long considered our government just a bit too secretive and becoming dangerous to our basic rights. This story is sensational and seems important, but just how will it play out? I know I'm sensing it will continue to be one of the top stories.
One time, I talked breathlessly about something I thought was a real news flash, only to be met by someone saying 'uh, that's a well known secret,' - really took the wind outta my sails. That was a funny moment.
Just as farmer on the one hand felt I was betraying a confidence, he felt it was no BFD - even Beingist thought it was boring and insignificant. (I continue to see it as very funny stuff.)
Why am I having this ramble? I guess I like to try and put things in perspective. *shrug*

Seems clear you're wanting to justify your actions. Nothing you've done is a big deal, but why not just let it be what it is?

Seems clear you're wanting to justify your actions. Nothing you've done is a big deal, but why not just let it be what it is? Has it not occurred to you that I don't answer to you - or anybody else? Has it not also occurred to you that I'm not interested in your opinion(s). I'm not even worried about justifying my actions to you or anybody else. So sue me - I am just expressing myself. If you're not interested, then don't read it.

If you're not interested, then don't read it. You wondered aloud why you were having that ramble, and the question actually DID interest me, so I responded. I'm just sayin you were justifying your actions, to yourself, to others, whatever. The thought occurred to you that there is a scenario where revealing secrets is the right thing to do, and then you played down the significance of the 'secrets' you revealed, and framed it in a fun, light context. Again, none of that is a big deal. Being toadally unconscious of what you are doing and why IS a big deal.

But it doesn't mean you can see into people's psyches and claim to know their innermost thoughts and feelings and motivations, which you clearly don't understand. I'll let you in on a little secret though - One of the first 'careers' I thought I wanted to be was a journalist. So, I enjoy expressing myself in print. I only wish I could say that I had penned that pm because I thought it was great.
