another brick to the tower of babble? babble, babble, babble, babble, babble babble! tripping over piles of babble littering the landscape.
the audience applauds your performance, but the show ends, the curtain closes and an other one takes your place.
babble, babble, babble, babble, babble, babble, babble.

Very annoying indeed.
ZD, maybe you could move Dattaswami's ramblings into a single thread?

I probably will, but first I'm curious to see how Dattaswami responds to the questions he has been asked. I usually give these kinds of posts a day or two to simmer before making a decision. It's probably hopeless, but you never know until it becomes blatantly obvious. LOL

I'm familiar with Datta from the Gurusfeet forum. He dominated that forum as well, responded on occasion but failed to address the questions directly, only to use them as a launching pad for more 'lessons'. This was a couple years ago. I wouldn't expect a change anytime soon.

Well I have to give him this: His website is a lot more coherent than that of the last Swami we were visited by.

Well, Dattaspammi and his posts have been sent to Ignoristan. Bon voyage.

Unfortunately, ignore doesn't work for me for some reason.

Wow!
Just like that? Gone?
I've run across his stuff, too, at the old Chopra website. He'd pop in every other month or so.
Not sure ignore works for me, either. He obviously has a passion, and passion doesn't fade. It has to be suppressed. Which is pretty much what has been accomplished with the mass delete. The posts could have been ignored by those who found no value. Kinda like going down the road in the car, and changing the radio station. Now this station, now that one.
Simple stuff.

The ignore function seems to work for some people and not for others. Shawn isn't sure why that is. There is a way to delete entire threads, but I chose to block his IP and delete his sermons. He seemed unwilling to interact with members, and his posts were a lot like the spam we once got from some of the RT people. Ignoristan seemed appropriate.

zendancer
I understand where you're coming from. I'm just pondering aloud, here. I've always wondered why people dump a load of debris anywhere, and then walk, or drive away from it.
I actually read his stuff. It made me remember when I was trapped and clawing to bust out of this self-imposed prison. But I learned the jailer WAS jailing the jailed. An important signpost along the way. I'm kinda grateful he was kind enough...

I wouldn't call it so much a passion as much making marketing rounds to ply his wares. There was no life in his post. They all looked like cut and paste jobs.

He obviously has a passion, and passion doesn't fade. It has to be suppressed. Does it? P It appears to be the case, yes. I'm tearing away at the veil whenever I can. I'm passionate about it, too. And, yes, friends and others have tried to suppress it, and still do, and it's not like I'm walking around with a megaphone. Maybe Rumi's onto something... This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, Some momentary awareness comes As an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, Who violently sweep your house Empty of its furniture, Still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out For some new delight.

Yes, I guess I didn't open to that possibility. I did respond to one of his posts yesterday, and came back a few hours later and deleted it. Our paths crossed for a moment, and something changed its mind. I used to hate it when that happened.

LoL!!
I'm tellin' ya', you have to be very careful with beverages with that zendancer in the area of operation. I come back in here, see the dattaswami's threads have reappeared, take a swig of Orange Crush, click a link...realize the dattaswami post as the threadstarter is gone, and just the responses remain..... spew out the Orange Crush all over me and everything else..... ;D
