i'm going to introduce myself with my theory. i have read quite a bit of nis. and mckenna over the last few years. i will have to use language so pronouns and english will be my first limiting factor. i want to establish the limits of language right off the bat so i am not berated for speaking in the first person about a topic that is basically unspeakable, and i don't want to put quotes around every other word.
in both jed and nis.'s writings they speak about forgetting the self and the all encompassing nature of I AM. I AM being the spoken, and I AM NOT the unspoken. both speak of forgetting the self and the immeasurability of the ONE. pretty much everyone here, if interested in enlightenment, are somewhere around or near those ideas. ( i do give a nod to those who don't care to get rid of themselves, and want to acknowledge the validity and perfection of their path. not that you need my nod)
my thoughts of late have been stuck on the question, how do i make something disappear that both encompasses everything and still be nothing? then i saw a solution at least for myself that worked. it happened because i playing with various screen savers, and i stopped on the earth horizon the view of earth from a distance.
now from that distance i am invisible. my ego/self is still the same i still consider myself the axis of the freaking universe (indulge me), but from that distance i'm roughly a skin cell, a nothing, and yet the earth appears as ONE. and the I AM/ not is infinite. so it dawned on me that the way to make a thing disappear is through scale and proportion. make something small enough and it disappears make some thing large enough and it's gone.
the only thing that makes my theoretical skin cells think that they are important is ego learned behavior, and yet an ego is nothing it's a condition that lasts for the duration of this bodies life and is gone with this body, just like the 10's of thousands of skin cells that your body will shed today we don't lose any sleep over that. i realize that people don't want to be compared to skin cells, yet our bodies are on the same track just slower. when i got into this frame of reference the self importance of the ego simply became comical all that i could see where skin cells arguing over which flag was more important or whatever "we" choose to argue over perspective got really funky.
nis. used to say stop imagining yourself to be this or that. you are everything, and nothing. so if one backs off far enough there is no method of comparison we can't even really imagine that. jed loves to point out that things get slippery way out there this is where language and thought dissolve.
this really gave me a visual cue card for what had been very difficult to grasp. poke holes. have fun.
