Hello everyone!
I'm new here and wondering what is the basis of the teachings here? Who is your god and things like that?
Thanks.

I'm going to laugh at your name every time I see it. This should be in the New Members section, though.
As far as 'our' god.... I can only speak for myself. And I have no idea.

Hi CB. I'm pretty sure there aren't any teachings here and I suspect most don't have one of those God thingys, but I could be mistaken about that. We do talk about nonduality mostly.

Peter: That's very cool. I had never heard of Panentheism, but that's a word/concept that coincides perfectly with what I experienced on the morning of March 5, 1984. I have had many people call me a Pantheist, which I always disagreed with, but now I've got a word that I can throw back at them. Ha ha. Most people would not relate to the word "non-duality," but panentheism is an idea they might be able to relate to. LOL

I believe in "God," but it is probably not the god you're thinking of. It's not the god of any religion or dogma or doctrine.

Why not just call is nature, reality, experience? Why screw around with words that have no meaning? As was pointed out recently in another forum I post at recently people think einstein believed in God but he simply said reality had a "religious or wonderous feel".

Is that to me?
Because God has been bastardized by people. I am not the one who mangled it. I tend to just say "no" when people ask if I believe in God because the misunderstandings are significantly lessened this way. Also, I don't much care for a debate on it.

I just think the use of this word by people mystifies so called "spirituality" because people miss the fact that no-self actually pertains to a perfectly logically way of seeing reality.

I've found the god concept totally useless. Though, obviously, others find it serviceable.
I don't even like the word spiritual; reminds me of what ain't.

Hello everyone! I'm new here and wondering what is the basis of the teachings here? Who is your god and things like that? Thanks. Welcome, I've discovered that it's quite necessary, for me anyway, to believe in nothing, including God and things like that. Well, not everything, actually I believe in something that has no form or color and exists before all forms and color appear. It's an important belief for me, in that, belief in any 'other' doctrine, if attached to, tends to be based on a self-centered idea. Meaning the fulfillment of any practice is predicated on the saving of myself. That kind of idealistic practice for me, is the long road and I don't have the time for it. I tend to gravitate to a preparedness, or as E puts it, a readiness to accept everything I see, as something appearing from nothing, knowing that there is some reason why an appearance of form and color appears... ...it's at that moment that the mind is at it's calmest.

Who is your god and things like that? When you get down to the business of sorting this out, and start to get a notion, god is a place where you will wait for the rest of your life. And then it's gone.

HAHAHA. And in the famous words of the late great Balsakar, "Who? Who is this you that you speak of?!?! Who??? WHO?? WHO?!?!?!!!" ;D
