The desire for money is the only reason to sell your book to a publisher to do with as they please. No it's not there can be many reasons you want your book published besides the money reason. From reading your posts I can see that it seems you have a lot of mental baggage around money. No need to worry just use some of my mental floss. No offense but money really triggers you. As for myself sure I want money for my work anyone that has a healthy outlook wants the same. But Money would be secondary for me the number 1 reason would be to get my story in the hands of as many as I can. Michael Yes, you judged my outlook unhealthy. It isn't the 1st time I've noticed you do this. I am not exempt, I sometimes do it too.

Don't be so hasty to pass judgement. Are you familiar with the concept of projection?

if it's your livelihood to write, you should be compensated ... if you wanna write and give it away, that's okay too ...
as for credit, mine has been shot for thirty years now ...

I started to listen to the pdf. It sounded great how they wanted to use science to create a new society. However, once they started talking about economics all the science went out the door. I never heard any "if the science bears it, we'll replace money based economy with resource based economy". It's just - money isn't needed as a given truth that we need not examine with the rest of them. It sometimes seems like everyone on the planet puts the cart before the horse. They say, I believe in capitalism, therefor capitalism is best. Or I'm a fair trader, so that is what's best. But how about proffering this dammed issue to science for once. Let's ask science what would be best. How the phuck would I know?

Because science must be tested and tried many times before it becomes true. It means that it won't just be a guess on what is best way to handle the resources, it will be the most efficient and best way and distrubuted equally amongst all humanity.
As well as preventing anymore detrimental and un-repairable damage.

I agree Mamza, no one is selling the truth. It's their story and insights about their liberation. In most cases these stories are their livelihood, too.
The truth is in everything if you think about it, and even if you don't think about it. :-) If someone makes a nice wooden chair for you to sit on, wouldn't you expect them to try and make a profit from their work so that they can continue making nice chairs? Why should it be any different for a writer? Being compensated for ones work is simply an exchange of energy.
