Actually, think about that a second. Do you think people get paid for the bible? They are often given away. Sure if you write about something else you should get paid. Not when it's something to point to the greater, that everyone should have access too. Sure folks get paid for the Bible . Everyman's story is different and unique it's not so much about having access as it is about the story it tells. Tolle tells very good stories and Tolle makes ton's of money. If Tolle told boring, awful stories he would be broke vs very rich. Michael

Whats the difference? Worldly treasures, vs helping as many as you can. It is obvious which is more noble to me.

Think it through IF Tolle gave away free all that he has done where would it leave him? IT would leave him Noble and poor. However by making millions he is able to give away ton's of money and many more people benefit from it, Michael

Michael, I never said to give away free all that he has done. Although it wouldn't hurt to give some of it free. You do make a good point, and I was just telling my mother that the other day when she constantly sells herself short for the greater good.

Michael I don't know if someone is making lotsa profit from the bible or not, (definitely not the people that wrote it) but I do know I can go to a church amongst other places and get one for free.

You seem to admire Tolle a bunch, what has he given away that isn't a tax right off?
I don't know any of these people really, is why I'm asking.

We'll, I think that the achievement and being able to share it with others is reward in and of itself. I am therefore weary of anyone who attempts to make profit off the knowledge that should be given freely. Yes but is it true that this knowledge should be given away freely? How do you know such a thing? How could you know such a thing?

Karen, what thing do I know?
Do you think the one who experienced it owns the experience and the knowledge ?
Is it really belonging to them to sell, or to share?
To me it is equivellent to selling the experience of love.

You can't sell love, and they don't sell truth. They sell stories that lead you to the truth. They sell stories that are made to help you see the truth for yourself. What they sell is not the truth. A truthful message may be truthful, but it isn't the truth.
And the knowledge you posses that Karen is probably referring to is the part where you said, "knowledge that should be given freely."
Who are you to decide it should be given freely?

I would consider it common sense, but you can be greedy all you like.
If someone knew what they insinuate they know, then I think they would see it as obvious.

Common sense? It's not very sensible to go through the trouble of writing a book and getting it published (which is, as Michael mentioned, not very easy) and try NOT to make money from it. And think about it, how many of the people who wrote and sold those books would turn you away if you walked up and talked to them about it? They're not going to say, "Go buy my book first, then talk to me."
If you want to write a book and give it away for free, go ahead, I won't stop you. But just because you would do something doesn't mean that the rest of the world is required to meet your personal version of noble. 90% of the people who do write and sell those books have gatherings and talks and interviews and websites to communicate with people all over the world. I doubt there's much in their books regarding awakening that they won't speak about openly.
