they say turtles, but without a shell?
I didn't know, you know I didn't know the snow would melt into truth and when the blanket is gone it's shivers all the way down

god, I love you
you used to call me your prophet maybe 'cause of my self-righteousness maybe 'cause you recognized my skewed but sincere attempt to discover truth...
truth is you were the prophet the seer, the one-in-the-know but I didn't know then but god, I loved you
didn't know what I had in you until it was almost too late you rescued me just in time right before you left this sphere made sure I was alright
but god, I loved you loved you in your summer dress loved with your hair a mess loved you here, loved you there god, I loved you everywhere
now, I go through life crying my heart out and yet tears of joy hase me down if I were a statue people would flock to see me
claiming, 'look, it's a miracle' 'the statue is crying' I was a statue before you saved me broke my heart of stone
the miracle is you, you in my life your prophet made a lot of mistakes almost blew it all to pieces don't know all that much about life but god, I love you

Rain, hail, snow and ice Are divided from one another; But after they fall They are the same water Of the stream in the valley.
Ikkyu
The many become one Which becomes many again Cycles of existence Essence manifested Water Discovers itself Without resistance To where it 'is' On the journey To where it is

The Long Boat by Stanley Kunitz
The Long Boat
When his boat snapped loose from its mooring, under the screaking of the gulls, he tried at first to wave to his dear ones on shore, but in the rolling fog they had already lost their faces. Too tired even to choose between jumping and calling, somehow he felt absolved and free of his burdens, those mottoes stamped on his name-tag: conscience, ambition, and all that caring. He was content to lie down with the family ghosts in the slop of his cradle, buffeted by the storm, endlessly drifting. Peace! Peace! To be rocked by the Infinite! As if it didn't matter which way was home; as if he didn't know he loved the earth so much he wanted to stay forever.

A father laid in a foreign hospital.
Angina attack, they say. Full blown heart attack, they say Blood pressure through the roof, they say Fluid on the lungs, they say
He can't speak, they say All he's doing is grunting and fighting, they say. Second stroke in three years, they say Will he come home now? I say.
British consulate can't find him; They say Need money for medical bills; They say I am angry, they say.
Does he want to come home now? I say.

So I'm in the ER on a Sunday afternoon due to a severe swelling and pain in my neck where I was biopsied on Friday. It continues to swell and only gets more and more painful. Hardly slept cause it hurts more when I am lying down. Cat scan says non-malignant and I see the surgeon next Wednesday to set up a day for removal. Also, pain has subsided. Thank God.

see sons I have heard on high I seent you in that other place the one to which you're tethered and lo and behold, lo and behold your face was warm and weathered not that it should bother me you still need a proper wrinkling and be that as it prolly may I didn't have an inkling and so it happens, time and again as winter's plan ensures it the point is prim and proper pain lest solstice sight obscures it and seasons left and seasons right a sure and salty treasure god bless you one and every your dishes sweet and savory charlie giardino 12/16/14
