Great thread. It’s funny, there’s a large category of people (including me) who first approach spiritual books, teachers, or this forum etc with the intention of digging up to find a method, a way to, a user’s manual, a strategic recipe so we can say “ok, now that’s what I’m gonna do and I’m sticking to it and sure thing heaven will open up and the Universal One will be revealed”. Hey, seems like others have gotten there, I can do the same and I’m there.

No matter how much we read, get advice, decipher stuff and try to guess, the “method” stays elusive, the “way” has no handle to grab onto. And that’s a blessing because a technique would be completely beside the point, bypassing the beauty of what’s going on and the reality of the process of Coming Closer (I capitalise those because I can’t find what to call the coming closer of what with What). Seems like not only there is not a way, but also there really are millions of ways!

And ways to what (we’re looking for)? Oh we can imagine what in various representations but WE DON’T KNOW.

I cannot know where I’m headed, yet I know I have a path which I have to find, and call me deluded but I could swear the finding is getting done —albeit blindfolded and slowly groping in the dark— and no-one else can find for me, or more accurately: allow IT to unfold.

It’s not that books and groups and teachers and advice are useless, they serve greatly to fan the precious flame of intent, and transmitting the falling in love with That. So we reach out for each other through this MAGNIFICENT board thank you all.

There is no knowing to be had but a treasure in becoming comfortable with the not knowing (paraphrasing LM) and the creative hand of the OneSelf finds a way through this intent and this call. Keep on calling…

Thanks, I appreciate that. I'm glad we're on the same page, because, even if it is uncomfortable at times, it's so exciting being able to do this experiential research, isn't it?! It's like this epic adventure....

Yes on both points. Your explanation about perception of the void is fascinating and now I cant stop thinking about how to cultivate more void like experiences in order to test it out. Ive heard the analogy over and over about mistaking a rope for a snake and not relating in any way until now. You are very good at what you do.

It is funny how, because we are always being made aware of our blindspots themselves, the places where we already have been resisting, it's always something new, always a surprise to find what's in the way and what's next. It's always a surprise to find what allows for more letting go, and for letting more in.

Thankfully it's always in the same direction (in the sense that it's always more and more opening), and life helps us out by giving us the next thing (because God knows none of us would probably never find the next thing without help ). But it's true that there's no way to really know ahead of time or second guess. That's part of what's so scary initially, I think, and part of what becomes so freeing and magical later (and during to some extent as well of course).
