Q: What do you make of the law of karma?


A: Most of us as kids were tricked into the silly belief that there was some guy, far away, long beard, watching our every move, judging our being good or bad, and if we’re good-he brings us presents, in Christmas. And if we’re bad, he punishes us with a lump of coal.

And then we grow out of that, just absolutely ridiculous childhood belief, and start believing in God. Where we realize, nah, the idea that Santa Claus is somewhere far away, watching us, our every move, judging us, and gonna punish or reward us accordingly is just unbelievably stupid. But then we realize, God’s far away, and He’s watching our every move, and He is gonna judge us and then punish us or reward us accordingly. I mean, that makes sense. For religious people.

But I’m spiritual enough that I’m not religious enough to believe in that kind of thing anymore. It’s just absolutely primitive. So I believe in law of karma!

The law of karma says that Noone’s out there, and Noone is DEFINITELY watching my every move, and judging me, am I good or bad. And, if I’m doing good things then the Noone who’s running the law of karma is gonna reward me, with good karma. And judges me as doing bad things, then the Noone who’s running karma is gonna reward me… Bad things! Punish me… with bad karma. That makes sense!

I mean, the idea that there is a man in the north pole, or a man in the sky named God, doing all those, doesn’t make sense. Having Noone running that same show that’s now called karma, think we can all agree, that actually sounds plausible!
