hi Was just watching a couple of youtube vids about 'non duality' and was wondering what the hell they were talking about..i wont mention names but it was more like neo adviata with a huuuuuuge dose of nihilism....and on top of that, it was incredibly boring lol...every question that was answered was basically the same as the talk itself...its all wholeness x10000 i dont think the average person would find it helpful at all, like if they were interested in spirituality and managed to stumble on these specific topic yt videos... anyway ...I googled their names to try and learn abit more about them and to see if anyone shared my opinion on it haha...then i saw this website and thought i would take a look at the teacher ratings, because as you can probably tell, im very curious and interested in the experience of it all ... cheers

It really depends about which teacher you are talking. For myself I watched a lot of vides of UG Krishnamurti lately. I found him definitly entertaining, but I can understand if ppl find him confusing or not so helpful. Then there is Mooji who can be pretty funny or Tolle who reminds me of a gnome. There are so many...
Why did you google them, if you found them boring? How did you find them in the first place?
What is the average person? What has the average person to do with you?
In which experience are you interested? Why not just go for holidays? It might be more fun than getting involved in this mumbo jumbo here.

If you are a clear thinker you will see that mind points to the end of mind. There are questions which can arise in mind but which can never be answered in mind. That is what I mean when I say that mind points to the end of mind. The first thing to see is that you are not your mind. Mind is part of totality but totality is not in the mind. Every thought is a model, an abstraction. There is a differnence between just looking at a tree or saying tree in your head but not really looking. All words are lies. They are like sticks pointing to objects but not the objects themselves. If you have seen that clearly than there should be a basis for understanding those teachers. Without these understanding those teachers will just contradicting themselves and each other.

Japhy Just because I found the teachings boring doesn't mean that I can't find out why and if people agree or not, as entertainment. If you are interested in a subject then you will find different people talking about that subject. I cant help but not be interested in this and that. Your questions are not very good so I'll stop...

Hey uraverb....welcome. If this area is new to you, I'd suggest looking up J Krishnamurti (not UG Krishnamurti, he might scare the Be-Hesus out of you). I'm sure you can find some short clips, 10-15 minutes (as well as some over an hour). He's essentially a non-dualist, but without all the lingo. He's a very clear speaker, makes a lot of sense. You can name the guys (people) you came across, I'm sure you'll get feedback and ratings. www.youtube.com/user/KFoundation

Sorry, if I'm boring you with my questions, but I have some more. When does boredom arise? So the teachings are boring but not the subject? Which subject are you talking about? Life is just soo boring...

Assumptions based on what? An intro post where I shared an opinion...lol It was just a brief summary of my point of view on "basic" non-duality. Why do you feel offended?

I don't find the subject boring no Life can be boring, since its easy to forget what you're not.

Not really offended, more confused by your posts...feelings still take over regularly without even knowing it....you can then notice it or you can act on it....I don't think anybody would have anything to say if we always went with the former?

I don't think anybody would have anything to say if we always went with the former? Yes that's true and it's also a challenge for me to find a natural balance between acting out and noticing. Not really offended, more confused by your posts...feelings still take over regularly without even knowing it....you can then notice it or you can act on it.... Maybe my post was very confusing and not really didactic. It just came to my mind and I wrote it down.

So everything you have said is a lie? Yes. So it would be wise to disregard everything you say? Also... Without these understanding those teachers will just contradicting themselves and each other. ...perhaps people contradict themselves for a simplier reason...they just aren't aware of what they are saying. They just blurt out things that sound wondrous without cross checking to see if all the elements are in harmony.
