Yes, we could say that the teacher was seeing a giraffe. The teacher seems to value ordinariness over specialness. If the teacher thinks that the student should be smacked then folowing the same logic the teacher should not be surprised if the student hits back. I meant to say I appreciate your line of thinking, Q. Just want to say Silver, I'm very much appreciating your line of thinking as well! The fact that you 'dare' to challenge the wisdom of a quote that's been authored by someone with the title of 'zen master' is refreshing indeed. so many spiritual aspirants are willing to acquiesce their own inner wisdom for teachings that have garnered a following and withstood the test of time, without question. It's Always inspiring to see one of the flock refuse to follow along with the herd.

You're right about the physics of water, but the chemistry (hydrophobicity) is also important. What if you get shoes as big as half a surfboard? That would help a tiny little bit. During your duck satsangs, I'm sure you noticed the ducks greasing their feathers. They are making them water-repellent ;D Water repellent is a good thingy when the objective is static buoyancy, but mostly irrelevant to running on water, which is more applicable to water skiing. The crazy fool on skis is not buoyant at all, and neither are shoes. (hehe) Axchuly, I suspect the 'Greeb method' would be more effective. (wonderful vid, BTW) Cool vid indeed! I've seen ducks doing that too, though I don't have them on "tape." When comparing water skiing with running on water, which way is the biggest force vector pointing to?

It's a simple point, which makes me wonder why peeps are working so hard to miss it. Okayy. Why do you want every zm lesson to stand on its own? Aren't some of them lame? Seems like you have a vested interest in their 'success' with One and All......suspicious. I have no interest in the story at all. It IS lame. As I just implied, my interest is in why peeps are working so hard to miss the point. (You're still doing it by imagining a suspicious vested interest)

(You're still doing it by imagining a suspicious vested interest) Well - #1 I wasn't even working at it. hahaha. I wasn't working at missing the point - because it immediately seemed rather lame. I said nothing against all the other examples/lessons in zd's post because they didn't seem lame okay. #2 I shared what impressions and complaints I had about that particular story because they sprang to mind immediately. There was no straining on my part! And finally, I was being facetious when I said you seem to have a vested interest...suspicious...blahblahblah. You have heard of tongue in cheek. ;D

Okay. Say I want to make an animated Gif of a portion of another movie - I'm thinking Patch Adams.....how do you do it? The wiki link didn't say how it's done - or I missed that part.
