''If one only understood - directly - the amount of energy expended, put forth, shot out into the world by going about doing things, one would realize immediately exactly why the inner house constantly feels divided. Why the mind is stoked into a furious gale force storm at almost all moments of life. Why the body can feel so fatigued, and the will so drained. Why there is hardly a desire, a comfort, and even a direct distaste for sitting still, for not having an activity to do 'next', a moment's respite. Why the human form goes out of its way to AVOID such moments where one can settle and potentially, even just for a moment, contemplate what is actually going on. No way. Even those who do manage to sit—either formally, or by just taking a little time out from the day—are assaulted by that mind they have been so identified with—and unable to see past the identification, energy is then poured into trying to stop the flow of thoughts—leading to greater and greater agitation during an attempt at cultivating some stillness and peace. Doing—doing anything—not simply allowing the universe to unfold unjudged and untouched—puts your hand on that rudder, and once it is spun, it keeps right on going. But it is only going because you are supplying the force, the energy—in effect, it is only going on because you are leaking precious energy into trying to manipulate form. And from there the rest of the cards, and the rest of the life, fall where they may. It takes energy to keep up the façade—perhaps more than one may realize. There is no need for it, and the continued attempts to keep that sinking ship afloat is only making your own situation more difficult, rebuilding your mask one moment at a time, every moment, every day. The lifeline that is meant to sustain you is poked full of holes all along its length, draining your life. Spewing what should be going on all by itself, (and in truth, still is, despite all of your meddling)—the ultimate irony. Your energy and efforts are wasted when trying to alter or manipulate what is right in front of you—unless that move comes up in the very space of life right there, right at that point. Anything else, lost energy. The universe is already unfolding perfectly. 'Let go' is not supposed to be a sappy, sentimental catch phrase. It is the only move there is to make—in fact it is actually a non-move. Who is brave enough to truly let go? I challenge you to ask yourself just how much control, how much expended energy, how much of a facade is currently filtrating through every movement, every moment, every crevice of your carefully orchestrated life. Look close. Be honest. How many chances to face this will you allow yourself to have during the brief years given you on this ride?”
