I really like the part where he says, "grace is constantly tapping at the door of your own hearts." Lately there have been oodles and oodles of hawks flying around everywhere I go, and every time I see one it's like a reminder to pay attention to what's happening right now. A lot of times trees will do the same thing--the absolutely ridiculous complexity of all the branches and leaves and flower buds, the multiple shades of color and depth, the light from the sun hitting things certain ways....
And those are just the reminders I'm paying attention to. I'm willing to bet that anything I come across can be the same kind of 'grace tapping on the door of my heart.' It's just a matter of listening.

Wow. This describes my current state exactly. I can totally relate to that woman's fear. to keep the old-tapes alive, the witness must inject some new life into the mind if it wants to perpetually create that which is obselete.
