There's a lot here, but particularly interested in seeing Alan Watts as a very smart prophet. He basically saw today's internet, a collective brain outside the body.

Summer don't know me no more He got mad, that's all
Summer don't know me He just left me low in myself 'Cause I took no love From you then Just dying, yeah
I saw that day Lost my mind Lord, I'm fine Maybe in time You'll want to be mine
Don't stop the buck when it comes It's the dawn, you'll see
Money won't get there Ten years passed tonight You'll flee
If you do that I'll be someone To find you
I saw that day Lost my mind Lord, I'm fine Maybe in time You'll want to be mine
I saw that day Lost my mind Lord, I'm fine Maybe in time You'll want to be mine Maybe in time You'll want to be mine Maybe in time You'll want to be mine

What about the time? You were rollin' over Fall on your face You must be having fun Walk lightly Think of a time You'd best believe This thing is real
Put away that gun This part is simple Try to recognize What is in your mind? God help us Help us lose our minds These slippery people Help us understand
What's the matter with him? (He's alright) How do you know? (the Lord won't mind) Don't play no games (he's alright) Love from the bottom to the top Turn like a wheel (he's alright) See for yourself (the Lord won't mind) We're gonna move (right now) Turn like a wheel inside a wheel
I remember when Sittin' in the tub Pulled out the plug The water was runnin' out Cool down Stop actin' crazy They're gonna leave And we'll be on our own
Seven times five They were living creatures Watch 'em come to life Right before your eyes Backslidin' How do you do? These slippery people Gonna see you through
What's the matter with him? (He's alright) How do you know? (The Lord won't mind) Don't throw him no games (he's alright) Love from the bottom to the top Turn like a wheel (he's alright) And see for yourself (the Lord won't mind) We're gonna move (right now) Turn like a wheel inside a wheel
What's the matter with him? (He's alright) How do you know?(the Lord won't mind) Don't know me (He's alright) Love from the bottom to the top Turn like a wheel (he's alright) See for yourself (the Lord won't mind) We're gonna move (right now) Turn like a wheel inside a wheel

He's alright The lord won't mind He's alright Love from the bottom to the top He's alright The Lord won't mind Right now Turn like a wheel inside a wheel

How can the wicked smile while the world is burning How can they turn their eyes and walk away How can the blue bloods hide, while brothers killing brothers Why do they divide I and I for diamonds and gold
The dreams of children they float to the sky And wires and watchtowers can't bring their demise Tell me why oh why are we so blind The treasures of love lay buried inside Tell me why oh why do we deny The chains of Babylon are all in our mind
The murderers clouds can't keep the sun from shining The wind of Jah will scatter them away The murderers clouds can't keep the sun from shining Jah will scatter he who has no shame
The dreams of children they float to the sky And wires and watchtowers can't bring their demise Tell me why oh why are we so blind The treasures of love lay buried inside Tell me why oh why do we deny The chains of Babylon are all in our minds
Why oh why..

I had an imaginary friend when I was a child that persisted until I was about 10. i wouldn't read too much into the imagination of a child.

But, I don't believe in just 'one life' and the child does seem kind of young to be expressing those names/themes.

Sometimes it seemed incomprehensible, but the real learnings were that firstly, they were exposed to far more than I realised, and secondly that they were incredible sponges, capable of reinterpretation

The one life or more stuff is a conundrum I avoid. I try to keep my thoughts within the bounds of what I know, or can know, which admittedly isn't much

The one life or more stuff is a conundrum I avoid. I try to keep my thoughts within the bounds of what I know, or can know, which admittedly isn't much Yes, for me it's definitely been useful to distinguish between the different kinds (and qualities) of knowing. We've spoken here of differences between direct and indirect knowing, we've talked about 'fundamental' knowing and 'self-evident' knowing. We've talked about the difference between gnosis and intellectual knowing. And also the differences between knowing, belief and speculation. The 'one life' stuff falls into the category of 'belief' for me, and I don't mind saying that it's a belief that's strong, but I also clearly see the boundary of the belief and I can surrender it swiftly when necessary/appropriate. Reflecting on my path....there was a time in which I would have said that all 'strong belief' was bad...perhaps even that ALL 'belief' is bad, but that's changed for me over the years. Now I'm okay with strong belief, as long as I can be flexible with it. 'Strong' no longer means that I am compelled to hold it.

I'm currently in a period of trying to strip away everything that is clouded or unclear and leaving only the barest of knowledge. It can be pretty stark, sometimes, which is not altogether comfortable. Sometimes it is necessary to hold onto something to give ourselves direction. It sounds like you can recognise your bias and are willing to let go if needed, which sounds like a mature approach

As you say, just 'stripping' it all away. It's just the thing to do. Particularly when I'm a passenger in the car for some reason, I'm inclined (compelled even) to empty it all out (not so much when I'm driving).
