That's an interesting question, but the context he presented was conscious being vs AI being. C´mon Andrew, what happened to your braincell? (just kidding). If we are a simulation, we a r e AI, thinking we are "conscious". yeah, true....but....I don't think sdp was starting from that position.

just began watching this one. In the first 3 minutes he makes an important observation about a particular worm, which has 932 cells, 1/3 of which are nerve cells. There seems to be no coherence or organising entitiy in the worm. When i listen to the yogi´s, i hear that every species has a "prototype"in the subtle physical, which is the governing consciousness. Folk like Koch here, will perhaps at some point discover, like Candace Pert did, there must be some invisible "intelligence" or force, that organises and rules the functions of the physical . Rupert Sheldrake his "morphogenetic field" comes to mind here too. And the astonishing discovery of several people who had no brain whatsoever, and had fully functional lives. yeah I resonate with all that, but there is still a qualitative difference between a sophisticated AI robot-human, and a human. Could a sophisticated bot ever become so sophisticated that there was no difference between the two? Hmmm my answer to that is that....a bot would have to become so sophisticated that it would have to access a higher mind or higher self.

Isnt that what most ´consciousness people´ (the spiritual ones) say? (see Reefs earlier here)first consciousness, then matter. So if you mimic matter well enough, consciousness will happen. (IBM bluebrain project expects this) But we are still a loooong way away from that. Our supercomputers are nowhere near imitating brainstructure.(Koch in his lecture here above in 2011) Others (Jeff Hawken, IBM bluebrain project)think we´ll have AI by 2020. If math and statistics are reliable, there are billions of civilisations out there.Must have been done, if useful. Maybe for us humans to be able to create, we will have to become much more conscious, and master instead of slave of who we are. Wether we would have use for such artificial intelligence i dont know.

I wouldn't say that robots currently have access to, or are connected to, a higher mind. I'm not sure what the step would be between not having access/connection, and having access/connection. In traditional and somewhat outdated terms, I could more easily talk about this and say that humans have a 'soul', but robots do not...so the question for me would be....can robots get to a point where they have a soul? I don't know.

Which some folk are a bit worried about.(Matrix, the movie) Soul is a product of evolution, so given enough time, they will develop soul. And, as i said...more and more scientists now entertain the possibility it has already happened and we (the entire universe) are a computer simulation. One in billions. Elon Musk (billionaire eco-entrpeneur)says it is a one in a billion chance we are NOT a simulation...

The human gene pool is basically a mix of many other galactic species, including pleiadian, arcturian, reptilian and many others. So anyway, the experiment was to give humans an ego, so they would only have limited access to their higher mind/selves...particularly through dreams, meditation etc....and to see if they could awaken from the ego state. The reason this experiment was conducted is because other galactic races were also stuck in evolutionary terms (though the problem wasn't one of ego), and if humans could awaken from the ego state, then much could be learned from the experiment. And not everyone shares exactly the same gene pool. Some folks carry more of the reptilian gene, some folks carry more of the arcturian gene etc. The upper echelons of society tend to be very careful with their gene pool. And hence the whole 'missing link' thing. We didn't really evolve from the apes, though we do share some commonalities with them of course.

It's clear from history that there was a lot of inbreeding/incest - is that what is meant by them being very careful with their gene pool?

Even though everyone knows inbreeding is problematic, they still do it.

She was a blessing for the world I feel (in one way we all are, but still).

I heard that humans themselves are the creators of the reptilians, via genetic manipulation.when we still lived in the Lyra system, as the ultimate space-wariior. They set up their own shop however, and conquered half the galaxy.
But we foresaw this, and did so deliberately, in order to have the greatest possible opponent to develop the consciousness (supramental) that could lead to physical immortality...(which needs co-operation of all conscious species in the entire galaxy-perhaps universe) Most species have closed the door on that possibility because they all did genetic manipulation, erasing the genes that we didnt know the function of (like doctors taking out tonsils because they thought they "do nothing").
They are interested in us because we still have the original gene sequence..
after "we" escaped from Lyra, which was overrun, we found eons long refuge on Earth.Paradise. Eventually the reptilians caught up with us.Even though hacked and under the thumb of the reptilians, we still are "royalty".Which is why other species want to help us. They need us, but we have to do this by ourselves.
We started the whole thing ourselves, like when you put yourself consciously in a difficult situation , to challenge yourself. Immortality could only be achieved if the rest of universe co-operated.Hence creation of reptilians, to get them moving.

There is similarity to what I heard....'to get things moving'.
