San Francisco wildfires That looks like a picture from Mars. Reminds me of picture of the Moon I took last year. I'll see if I can find it.

That was taken by cellphone, a Huawei. It sometimes gives good results in winter sun. Cell phone cameras can produce surprisingly good pictures if the lighting is right. But their tiny sensors do really badly under low light conditions and dynamic range generally isn't so good either. Here's a low light test picture:
