I don't have a story to tell. That was your story about me, along with how it's not being told with enough effectiveness. Stories are not useful. Nobody ever changed their lives in any meaningful way because of a story. Mostly, lives change when we're willing to let go of our stories. I wanna be clear here, I didn't tell any story about you or me, in this brief little back-n-forth. I think you're the one living in your dream world right now, dear. All people want to know (enquiring minds haha) is how you first came to your realization or whatever you want to call it. For the record, Ag, he has told bits and pieces of his realization story here and there, but in the end, I have to agree with him--the story really doesn't matter.

You saw that as personal disparagement or was it something else?

You saw that as personal disparagement or was it something else? I just thought it was another over the top clever thingy that you tend to do too often, and it surprised me because I appreciated what Quinn had said, and she is going to express herself with sincerity, and it just seemed like a pop in the face -- I mean, don't we 'get' each other more or less here? It just felt like trying to teach, or make some sort of point at her expense. I realize it doesn't 'bother' her, but it's the kind of thing that I think is too too.

Yep. It seems pretty clear now why in the past, much of the teachings were not just freely available for everyone. It ends up being some big buffet of spiritual solutions to try and move on to the next without ever really being genuine about anything. Yeah, many religions had a mystical branch and kept their pearls hidden from the swine. Now we have Al Gore's internet to simplify the feeding process. Hehe.

Get yer facts straight Maam ... first off, that reply was to JLU, 2nd off, what, specifically about it, was personally disparaging?? ... remember the only thing prohibited in a NAT is personal disparagement.

Sometimes I find it confusing who is being addressed, so I got that one wrong. I hope you don't consider it personal disparagement if I say I sometimes feel like maybe not just me who's drowning in all that cleverness around here. *shrug*

Greetings.. Yes, that's important. I'd basically say mind is always present minus deep sleep and that mind for most is simply in a state of illness in the same way the body can become ill. And yet, nobody seeks to make the body disappear when it is ill rather than healing it. What that healing entails has absolutely nothing to do with banishing thought but rather leaving behind perspectives that have no basis in reality. Once again, thanks for the sanity. What I see so often is folks latching onto solutions without even understanding the problem. Solutions like 'just let go', or 'stop thinking' or 'be present'. But nobody knows what to let go of, or what thoughts to stop, or what it means to be present, so even if it's the right solution, it's destined to fail. What everybody wants is to stop suffering, but not everybody can even agree on that, much less what suffering is and why it happens. We can't agree that it's a good thing to know, or that it's even possible to know. It reminds me of the technical meetings we used to have when I was doing engineering. You begin with the false notion that everyone is like you, they are not. There are those that will endure suffering for the access to clarity, though when clarity is accessed the suffering becomes meaningless in the awareness of its remedy.. Be well..

Sorry, you're not going to become like a baby. John 3:1-21 1 Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” 3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” 4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” 9 “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked. 10 “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? 11 Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? "Rub a dub dub, thanks for the grub"

Okay fine....the bear says you've told bits and pieces of your story, and that it doesn't matter in the end. Nobody can expect any particular change in how individuals relate, unless they're motivated -- jess sayin'
