It's the closest thread title to full enlightenment that is possible with the current forum software.
Can we do something about this please?
It's a gyp!

Everyone knows by now that level 2 is the attainment of perpetual peace joy and ease and that level 3 is the unattainable goal that we're ever becoming toward as long as we remain open. Get with the program!

Get with the program! it's hard to come up with an exact figure .. but like 90% of what I see here goes in my good eye, and out my bad ear, while leaving no trace behind

setting aside the stoooooopidist thread title to date ... 1) what is the significance of the number 2? 2) what does "full enlightenment" mean? It's based on Andrew's personal Niz ontology, basically it describes the route into parabrahman: There is something worth talking about here in my opinion and seeing as I quoted Niz, I will talk about it in Niz terms. He sometimes spoke of 3 stages....the second stage is stabilizing in 'I am', and the third stage is stabilizing and then transcending 'I am' (Parabrahman). What we have been 'quibbling' about here is the difference between stage 2 and 3. In stage 3 there is no knowing or sense of our existence. The 'I am' thought becomes 'non-knowledge' (as Niz puts it). It is while we are in stage 2 (the stabilized stage) that there is still a sense of knowing that we exist. There isn't much contradiction and paradox in Niz's pointing because he doesn't context hop. He points directly away from mind and firstly, towards I am, and then secondly, beyond I am to Parabrahman. His approach does have limitations though because it contains a bunch of reification and does potentially set up attachment to a 'special state'. He talks about them as different levels of disidentification (or progress). Basically, first we disidentify with the body (actually first he says we are 'spiritually inclined' but that is not relevant to what you asked there). Second we stabilize. Third we go beyond (he calls it Parabrahman - the absolute state). ''The first step is to go to this ‘I am’ state, remain there, and then merge and go beyond.'' Okay, well I don't have an issue with associating Parabrahman with Awareness, but have you seen this 'map'? I'm not sure but I think his translator did it, though I might be wrong. Niz didn't often equate Awareness with Parabrahman I have noticed and I think there is good reason for that. In ONE way (emphasizing the 'one' there), it could be said that the Parabrahman state is a state of total unawareness because the 'one' that is aware is no more i.e. there is no-one that is aware. This is often the frightening bit for those comfortable with the Brahman position because this position comes with a high degree of 'being aware of' or 'being conscious of'. In a sense, we have to face the potential of becoming unconscious again, we have to face the potential of getting totally lost in the river of mind, we have to face the potential of suffering. The rigid boundary between conscious/unconscious, real/illusion, actual/imaginary...is released.

oooh I see, thank you mr duck for getting me up to speed, I seriously hope that my road to salvation does not require understanding that map, or I'm scroomed .. scroomed I tell ya!
as an aside, when traveling I never use a map, or gps, or a smartphone. I'm like Christopher Columbus out there, sailing my the seat of my pants .. "well there's the sun, so this should be North". anyhoo, a recent trip through DC perfectly illustrated a flaw in my navigational abilities. ;-)

Hey! How'd you like the azzkickin' my Tigers gave to your homeboys on the baseball diamond these past few days?! I'm a Cubs fan, or was, back when baseball interested me. But I usually watch the playoffs, I like watching athletes perform in those do or die situations. Verlander is from around here, ya know.

Back in the day I would visit Wrigley Field when I was in town... Yes, I knew the V man was from around there somewhere. He reminds me a lot of, Jack Morris. We should be seeing a little more chin music out of him down the stretch now that he's found his rhythm once more.

What's up with that? Did I miss something? Well, .... gotta add "Q" to your name as postscript to keep things straight for posterity and it makes sense to concoct a prefix from whatever the current display name is ...
