don't walk nor fly nor run would've sounded better double-negative-nelly First time I've ever read a poetry critique here. It was irresistible to me -- I couldn't help myself! My fault for trying to read them like I'm at some poetry shack or sumthin'. *snicker* (sorry 'bout that, Laffy)

any way
blank, gray motionless inside and out
I want to love is wanting to love love?
it may be so, in effect I do love
I hope so anyway

totally out the blue
peace abides totally out the blue didn't do nuthin' to attract it ..
but I'll receive it gladfully . . playin' melancholic music 'cause it fits the theme

the wind neither sleeping pills nor neighbors screaming or dogs barking or skies emptying or traffic blasting or that horrible music coming from next door neither head nor belly ache can approach it even the putrid stench of that guy down the hall frying terrible tilapia can remove me from this quiet this unassuming from the stillsmallvoice that grips my spirit right now charlie giardino 3/14/14 ... that fu.ckin' fish guy again!

so great a light
its all beautiful, isn't it? after all our petty concerns are dropped in the furnace into the chokehold of love
even when we get it all wrong, its alright when the last drop of blood dries there is great beauty in the clouded day November tides wash up December lives
and who can deny the blush of first love? life's great miracle upon which everything else swims or sinks so great a light shines
it's all beautiful, isn't it?

don't walk nor fly nor run would've sounded better double-negative-nelly it would have to be phrased "Neither walk, nor fly..." , which would be a nice use of consonance but would screw up the meter a bit.

the tiniest distractions It has been a lifelong struggle to rid myself of the desire to die
My love affair with oblivion has been tempered but it has not died.
Deep within my breast beats a desire to be no more it awakens in times of illness.
'Tell me doctor, how bad is it?'
Is it a sick inclination of mine or am I tapping into something more universal?
Whatever the case may be I love and I love deeply. I would do anything within my power for those I love
up to and including giving my life for them.
But in those in between moments separated by darkness and light I reflect a deep uneasiness.
A gnawing agitation.
That would be more content with my death than life here among the living it is then that the tiniest distractions maybe a call from my daughter asking if I'm going to one of the girl's games turns my thought around as I turn and dress to go charlie giardino 4/10/14

A Still Minds Clarity
A mind that is still beholds The splendour of all things Pirate ships and dragons, And cabbages and kings!
But do not seek for oneness For that would make you blind To the flowing of phenomenon And the power of still-mind!

CREATOR OF SHADOWS Hung in daylight a jewel is beautiful, but in darkness, magical. Never blind is the closed eye, the fire of inner sight. Seek not the light, to yourself look not, that destruction of thought, exploding existence. Left-hand path master, spectral phoenix, what shadow can follow thy flight? And a moonlit soul shines like a star, resting in peace, the sound of fabric tearing.
