Well, here's a prime example of that "female spiritual energy" that Andrew was talking about yesterday ... seems to me apropo to anyone into meditating ... also a great example of pure emotion pointing directly toward truth ... I'm sure this is well on it's way to becoming an inspirational cliche.
Hypochrites your all here for the very same reason
2 AM and I'm still awake writing a song If I get all down on paperIt's no longer inside of me threatening the life it belongs to
And I feel like I'm naked in front of a crowd Cause these words are my diary screaming out loud And I know that you'll use them However you want to

The Gift of Myself
I am not worth much in the monetary sense my bankbook needs an iron pill... and when I die my body will be worth $4.50 $3.50 for the skin and a buck for all else some sobering facts right there, my friend so how do I have the nerve to see myself as gift? well, I am gift as you are gift what defines us cannot be measured in monetary or any other terms
only that... when I look into your eyes I gaze into the face of God only that... hearing your voice ignites my very soul only that.... my gift and yours emanate from the same Giver
only that...

CG thx as always for that taste of the sublime --- inheritance
hollowed out, I follow emptied now, I come dropping all, approach you feeding on the crumbs
the weight of sin, it carries death in measured claws the scent of hope retreating senseless, without pause
still the father, waiting relentless to the bone runs out to meet deserters to gently lead them home
and feasts prepared for sinners while resentful elder sons painted dark and brooding the plague of envy runs
the story is for everyone we all can find a place some, too closed to welcome some, they bathe in grace
love is a tricky lover hidden in plain sight some close their eyes and wonder what happened to the light
for when the search is over you begin to understand the thing you sought was always back where you began
charlie giardino 1/17/13 take a swim in poison if you have the thirst look without for trouble, look within for all the worst imagine a grand canyon no way to get across wait until the night falls then show them who's the boss this legacy we all share it melts away at the first touch of Gods good gentle graces of letting go of must when resentment sees the witness a Rorschach test is made and when we turn the tables the pain begins to fade all the shiny baubles come down through all that time ain't worth just one good deep breath take it in and smell the rhyme be gentle in the turning smile to the guy who reads the will out to you be still against the lie know yourself you gentle creature see the beauty in the wind that blows away that legacy ... to freedom in the end

too soon gone
you know the litany 'he was so young' 'he had everything to live for' 'this is just a shame' we all say these words and many others when we're faced with the death of a young man or girl we don't know what to say so we wind up saying anything it's all done in love... a desire to comfort well, here goes another one a relative of a good friend he told me about all the young faces grieving, crying, remembering and then there's the poor mother I've seen it play out so many times among those young faces, no doubt are some doing the same things that led to this young boy's death twenty-eight years old a poet, obviously well loved if you go by the turnout will those young men, those young girls change their ways after witnessing their friend in a coffin? or will they resort to the comfort zone than brings no comfort... the only way they will find what they're looking for is in a similar box 'cause what they're looking for is an escape from their pain and what better escape is there than oblivion?...
funny how experience how hard-won wisdom can't be transmitted can't be transferred they say a word to the wise is sufficient and that is true but it seems that wisdom is found in the dark despair of hopelessness where god listens closely he has good ears, you know seek his grace before day's end and you know it's getting dark out there
