I'm what you might call an enlightened person. Although, there's no me to be enlightened. That's confusing though, and I don't want to confuse you. Enough people do that.
So let me backtrack a bit.
Enlightenment. It's simple. Simpler than we've all been taught. It's simple because it's true.
You don't have to meditate for ten thousand years. You don't have to wait seventy eleven lifetimes. You don't need to pay respects to any guru.
All you have to do is bow your knee to truth.
Ack. But even that is confusing. What's true?
Well, allow me to simplify the process for you. Enlightenment is truth recognition. You know the whole veil of delusion thing? Yah? That refers to something specific. You're unenlightened because you don't know the truth. Delusion=untruth.
But what's the delusion of? What's the untruth? What's the lie that you believe that causes your state of separation?
Before I say this, please do not turn this into some object of myticism or reverence. Don't just "oohhh" or "ahhhh" at what I say. That helps neither of us.
I want you to be free. I want you to be enlightened. And contrary to popular belief, it's neither complicated or special. Really. It's not. And the thinking that it's something unique to certain persons is absolutely a lie. If enlightenment wasn't for everyone, it wouldn't be enlightenment. It would just be another separation.
And that's not to say that everyone will become enlightened at the same time. That's just an excuse to be indolent and do nothing about it. You're in delusion, plain and simple. You ARE delusion. Get out of it.
With that healthy disclaimer, here it is.
Enlightenment is the simple recognition that there is no you.
Let me repeat that.
There is no you. That's enlightenment.
Understand that. Figure out how it's true. Once you do that, you're forever free.
Once more, and this time in bold so that you don't skip over it. I know I did when I first read it.
There is no you. That's the core within the myth of enlightenment.[/size]
That's all it is. Don't make it complicated. Don't just agree or disagree with it. Ask yourself "How is this true?"
If you want to be free, that's all you need to do. Come check it out. Now. Don't wait any longer.
Enlightenment is simple, it's true, it's real, and it doesn't cost a thing.
And listen, I know. I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW this stands againt generations and generations of teaching. Enlightenment is blown up to be this big special thing. A moment to be remembered. A shift in consciousness. Transcendence. Etc. Etc.
Fine. Sure. But all those ways of putting it haven't gotten you a step closer to enlightenment. It's kept you running in circles after a fairy tale.
So I don't place this before you and ask you to believe me. In fact, believing me is the last thing I want you to do.
This stands against a lot of what you've been taught. It challenges the idea that enlightenment is something special. But more than that, it challenges the foundation of all that you are: that you exist.
So I don't want you to simply agree or disagree, nodd your head or walk away. The evidence is your own experience. Look for a you. Look for a you that is separate from life itself. Look for a you that is directing life, not being directed by life. Look for a you that exists within life.
Test that. That's your evidence. Look at your self. See how it refers to nothing ethereal. It's all fictional. It's all arbitrary.
There's no you, and there never was. In that is enlightenment.
Don't trust me. Test it. Check it for yourself. Find out how it's real.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this. But it's your enlightenment on the line, not mine. So whether or not you check it is up to you. Whether or not you find enlightenment now, or continue entertaining a fantasy that enlightenment isn't for you...that's up to you.
I know what choice I'd make.
