Cabin, I love your transformation and all, but your statement is so wrong on so many levels. The amount of suffering in the world is absolutely astonishing, one can't help but look away and try not to think about it or else one will go bananas.

breath in the sustaining, breath out the surrender.... God what is God it is accepting that we are one breath....... no change, no distance, no movement, no other, just one. When we detach at any level no matter how evolved or how simplistic, we have moved out of oneness. Remaining in oneness drenched by the love domain the heartland of us - as one note one symphony there can be no separation you, I he they she them, distance...... you into love, me into love drenched, oneness.... so we are imbued with essence twenty four seven.... no transforming, no changes, no movement no words, lean in. love love Louij

We do talk about God here, but the LABEL we attached to this higher BEing is not used alot. Doesn't matter. Everything that is talked about in all aspects of life, to include this forum is always about God. Actions with or without words is GOD. What does change and detach from, for the very few that are masters, is from ego, judgement, prejuduce, taking things personal, trying not to control the choices of others even if the few disagree.....wait....the few don't even have to disagree because they UNDERSTAND that choices are what creates experinces for each humans who are BEing....that IS God.

Dear Cabin, Cabin, I love your transformation and all, but your statement is so wrong on so many levels. The amount of suffering in the world is absolutely astonishing, one can't help but look away and try not to think about it or else one will go bananas. Suffering is just an illusion in your mind. Not a reality. you have to be careful with statements like this. Unless you have really seen through suffering yourself and therefore do not suffer anymore, it's just another idea. There's no way you can make your or anyone else's suffering go away by just repeating the idea that it's all an illusion. cabin, What do you think this is all about. A rose by any other name smells just as sweet. I do not understand, what do you mean? God is just another name given to the ineffable ultimate reality, the direct experience of which this forum is all about. Around here it usually gets called Being, Oneness, THAT, or even _______.

Cabin: Everything on this website is about God, but most of us don't use the word "God" because of the dualistic connotations usually associated with that word. The usual image/idea of God as a "big father-figure in the sky" who created a universe separate from Itself and rules it from outside is contrary to the direct experience of all mystics. The word "God," if properly understood, is pointing to something ineffable, vast, loving, and numinous. Jewish mystics refuse to call God "God" because, from their view, it demeans the Reality of what the word connotes. Anyone who experiences the living truth of the Infinite will be struck speechless, and will forevermore live in the certain knowledge that language is utterly useless for describing THAT. That is why most of us on this website eschew the use of that particular word.

On this forum.. i do understand what you are pointing to, but people especially new people to this forum will see _______ as nothingness._______ is not nothingness. It may mislead some people into what is being pointed to.

Cabin: This is why Zen Master Seung Sahn used to say, "If you open your mouth, you've already made a mistake." LOL. No matter how we try to talk about the Absolute, or point to it, nothing is remotely adequate. Wittgenstein once said, "Whereof one cannot speak, one must remain silent." Then he went on to write thousands of words to explain what he meant by that. Chuckle chuckle. As a buddy of mine likes to say, "It's all part of being in show business."

desertrain most people on this forum have read alot of my posts and they know that i am a Christian Scientist, if you look at some of my earlier posts, i did many posts explaining why suffering, evil, disease etc are all illusions and unreal. Theres no need to go into detail into anymore. But to answer your question briefly I am 20 years old, i have had a real happy life and i am happy, but i have been through a few spells of manic depression, self harm, suicidal thoughts etc. I have suffered, but i know it was not a reality, it only seemed to exist becuase i was thinking about it, all evil, pain, suffering, disease, death are the result of wrong thinking. It is mortal mind, error. Lay off the wrong thinking, and there are no problems becuase the reality is spiritual perfection. There's a huge difference between unpleasant thoughts and phenomena like pain, disease and all the other atrocities that our species has gone through for millions of years. I suspect that you simply don't know what you're talking about when you lump all of it together. To have a statement such as "God loves us" be true, one would have to do serious mental acrobatics and change the definitions to such an extent that it would be impossible to imagine it and to relate it to the actual conditions of life. But hey, if it works for you, then that's wonderful, don't let a grump like me spoil your happiness.

Wittgenstein once said, "Whereof one cannot speak, one must remain silent." Then he went on to write thousands of words to explain what he meant by that. Chuckle chuckle. No. In the Tractatus logico-philosophicus he worked through all the problems of logic and language and he concluded the book with that famous quote, after which he hasn't done anything for ten years. It's also important to note that the quote was made in a different context than the one you're trying to locate it into. You would probably defend Seung Sahn if I were to say something incorrect about him and I have to do the same for Wittgenstein. He was extremely serious about what he did. I don't entirely agree with his philosophy and certainly not with the Tractatus, but he still deserves my utmost respect.

Cabin wants simplicity. ok... one word answer to God is ; LIFE. meaning that what we do(actions), is an expression of your ( self ) as an extension of who God is defined as.

I don't entirely agree with his philosophy and certainly not with the Tractatus, but he still deserves my utmost respect. Question: Thanks for the correction. Although I have read parts of Wittgenstein's writings, my quote and reference was taken from a second-hand source, but at the moment I can't remember who it was (maybe G. Spencer Brown?). I wasn't worried about being too literal about the issue because several people have made similar statements and written tons of stuff afterwards. Alan Watts once made this same point and enjoyed the humor of it. If W. remained silent after making that statement, then I am both impressed and disappointed--impressed that he remained consistent and disappointed that he remained consistent, as in "consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." LOL. Silence might be called for, but writing and talking is just too much fun.
