No doubt seekers vary in their expectation of what the end of the spiritual search may be like for them, or who may feel that this has already been achieved, or know of some descriptions by others, perhaps Guru's. It would be interesting to hear some of those descriptions.
For example Niz said that his Guru told him that he was already the Supreme, and Niz trusted him.

Niz was in a tradition where gurus make that kind of statement. Other traditions don't. Many gurus in other traditions will say, "You are already what you are searching for." In the Zen tradition students meditate as a way of accessing the truth. After various realizations and/or kensho experiences, Zen Masters will often test their students' understanding by asking them particular koans, but I can't think of any sages in that tradition who would say, "You are the Supreme," or "I am the Supreme" because such statements appear to have a certain degree of personal attainment, and Zen people eschew anything that might be interpreted as a personal attainment. The Buddha called attainment "non-attained attainment" as a way to point to the seeing of everyone's ground of being.

I was never able to picture an end, to be honest. All I ever knew was that I had 'somewhere to be,' but I never seem to be there. Can't seem to get away from wherever it is I am.

For some where one is, no matter what state that might be, is already Onenss manifest so already totally the connection sought. If this is resonated with, trusted, the search ends.
