United States We do not live in a United States. The numbers are going up again. Where are our leaders? What happened to our soul? Who’s looking out for the people who can’t look out for themselves? I am seriously stressed out. Do people not see the abuse of power? Who’s looking out for our constitution? Certainly not me. I am poet. My mind is on love and beauty; God and purpose. I have done nothing to stop the spread of stupidity. But I thought maybe my leaders would have my back. I feel so sad when I watch the news. There is an orange-haired man in the white house who scares the hell out of me. It’s not because he’s strong but because it would seem somebody out there is not standing up to him. There has to be some Superman, some Spiderman out there who can restore us back to sanity. Maybe Batman or Jesus will save us. Maybe someday we will grow up and stop spreading this f**cking virus. We need to be good examples for others to show other that we are strong. People who have good manners are simply those who genuinely care about others. What happened to us? How did we get so self-centered? There are some beliefs which transend these concerns such as some nonduality which asserts that there are no separate people.

I wouldn't recommend that these days (unless you know exactly what you are doing).

I wouldn't recommend that these days (unless you know exactly what you are doing). information can't hurt you.. but nobody just leaves it at that.. there's usually a bunch of TMT running rampant along with it Here's what I think all news organizations know but most people don't know: 1) a thought that has no emotion behind it has no power 2) your predominant mood depends on what you focus on predominantly So if you know that and watch the news, then you know exactly what you are doing. But if watching the news makes you sad and you don't like being sad but keep watching the news anyway, then you don't know what you are doing. So my advice to Agraves (and everybody else) would be: You need to take control of your focus (where you put your attention) these days more than ever. You can't just react to whatever comes along or is presented in front of you or else you'll end up in a really bad place, not just emotionally. So keep an eye on the emotional scale. Because the only control you ever have is where you put your attention. As long as you are in control of that, you are in control of your life. Which also means the one who can hijack your attention gets control over your life.

How did we get so self-centered? It's difficult to believe one person can have so much power over our lives. But without G Washington, becoming a country would probably have been delayed...decades. Without Lincoln we would be two countries today. Without FDR (and GB's Churchill) we would have lost WWII. The pendulum swings. What's maybe worse than T-man, all the Republican Senators and House members who do not stand up against him.

How did we get so self-centered? The cases are going up, but not so much the deaths. Something is causing the mortality rate to drop drastically. I think it's because the new infections are more younger people who have decided not to waste a year of their life under house arrest, for fear of a 0.1% chance of dying. (The last estimate I saw from the CDC was 0.4% mortality among symptomatic cases, and that's an average across all age groups.) I also think the stunning stupidity and hypocrisy of the media and some politicians in recent weeks has not done much to instill confidence in their "warnings". They chastised and lectured about "social distancing" and then violated it themselves. They attacked and shamed protests and mass gatherings, but then approved of others, depending on the political affiliation of the group.

We'll build you a statue right next to Will Rogers'. And then wait around to see what happens. if it was a statue of an oppressor then it rightly should be torn down One's oppressor is another's hero. Surely, you must be right, and whoever has another opinion must be wrong. It must feel nice to have no doubts.
