When you get a new set of tires, they always feel so grippy and secure. And at least with me, I never really pay attention to the feel of tires any other time. It's only by feeling the new tires compared to the feeling that my body was expecting do I get that pleasant feeling of new tires. A week later, that new ride feeling has long been forgotten, but the safety and performance gain remains.
So after a big Ah-ha, I use to revel in the feelings they gave, and feel generally poor when those feelings left. The insight is still there perhaps, but that Ah-ha feeling - that new tire ride feel - is no longer there. But the change in character remains. That's how it seems anyways.
However, at this point, I've become discouraged in the past wishing to have that invigorating feeling remain. This has led me to feel generally poor.
Having seen and experienced this cycle enough times, I try to forget insights. I haven't forgotten this one though.
