He is the One. For many of the users and for me too.
He is the one that made me plunge into Advaita, the one that kept me in it, and one that keeps keeping me in it when even the tough don't get going, instead go out as fast as they can.
He is my favorite, my One Guru, and in some ways my Love. There can be only One, and he is He.
With that being said:
How the Heck did he become the undisputable authority, the godlike quote-producing awe-inspiring discussion-ending supernatural entity that is the end-all be-all of the most poignant discussions here?
How does anyone referring anyone to Nisargadatta Maharaj (won't call him by his ST nickname, I hope ever) accomplish anything, when referenced even at the slightest disagreement? How is referring anyone to Maharaj when in a discussion constitute anything valid?
His appearance was human, and it's somewhat safe to say (unless you lynch me) that he told a lot of stupid cowdung in his life as well, and everytime you refer anyone to his extraordinary work the chance increases that you will run up in such a case.
This Nisargadatta Maharaj (transposed to all the other authorities as well) unfallible authority deal doesn't lead anywhere but caricaturing his gorgeous presence.

How the Heck did he become the undisputable authority, the godlike quote-producing awe-inspiring discussion-ending supernatural entity that is the end-all be-all of the most poignant discussions here? I dunno, blind devotion to a mere human equal to all other humans maybe...(all boldy text) He is the One. For many of the users and for me too. No, I don't think it was satire, and of course I'm only guessing, but there was an underlying joyful humor in what Niz had to say, a sort of irony at the grand cosmic joke, and I think our new friend is quite attuned to it.

Can you give an example of the stupid cowdung? I can't. OK. But one man's cowdung is another man's fertilizer. The best fertilizer.

OK. But one man's cowdung is another man's fertilizer. The best fertilizer. Exactly. And it goes the other way around, too. But that's not the point of the OP.

I don't know what the point of the OP is, unless you are posing a question, and not asking a question. How did Maharaj come to be what he is and become so well respected? He listened to his guru and followed his instructions, it's just that simple (but it's not that easy. Simple is not always easy).
