Hi everyone, Hope to get some insights and understanding. Welcome to the st.org forum sv. Are there any particular facets of the dialog here that interested you? Perhaps some of the material reviewed on the parent domain? How did you find us? Please feel free to remain silent in the face of such interrogation!

Thank you for welcoming! Was browsing an article by Sam Harris "Exploring the Mind" and clicking on links found "Spiritualteachers.org". Mind, actually, is the most fascinating "subject" for me... Also, meditation is something I use to get to the core of.... "nothing"... I am very curious and spontaneously meditating with no specific agenda, although "no agenda" is clearly agenda. So, it is a vicious circle, isn't it? Funny and at the same time frustrating, but frustration is simply emotion, correct? The question is WHY? Why am I here? Or even better question - why am I asking "why?"... Again, vicious circle... ha-ha-ha

Thank you for welcoming! Was browsing an article by Sam Harris "Exploring the Mind" and clicking on links found "Spiritualteachers.org". Mind, actually, is the most fascinating "subject" for me... So, it is a vicious circle, isn't it? Funny and at the same time frustrating, but frustration is simply emotion, correct? The question is WHY? Why am I here? Or even better question - why am I asking "why?"... Again, vicious circle... ha-ha-ha Thank you for sharing that. These are thoughts that are familiar topics of discussion here. There are several members who often post about ongoing or past meditation practices. A few teach or have at one time taught Zen or Vispanessa. What methods do you use? Other members are cautionary, and you could even say a bit critical of meditation practice for the reason of the apparent conundrum you identify there: that there is nothing to do, and noone to do it, no reason to do it .. and yet, there I am on the bench silently witnessing! A few members also have an interest in psychology, but what you will find in that interest, generally speaking, is the recognition that what is observed as movements of mind are appearances. It is interesting though, what those appearances can sometimes reveal. Another line of interest in terms of appearances that often recurs are in the sciences, although there is a general recognition in those discussions of the limitations of the conclusions that can be drawn from that line of inquiry. Some of the members are friendly and gregarious, some are quiet, even to the point of shyness, and to be honest, some of us can get downright rude at times. What I would say, is that anyone who posts here often is definitely worth becoming acquainted with as a correspondent, so I reiterate my welcome and wish you the best with your experience here on the forum.
