I wish to thank you all for such a warm welcome today. A lot of sincere folks are here and I am enjoying all of them. As a passing gift I have attached James free book on meditation a inquiry into self. It's free as quite a few items on his site are also for those that have interest. His site is www.shiningworld.comMeditation, An Inquiry into the Self for PD....pdf (748.98 KB) Much love Nowhereman

I've heard James Swartz say several times that vedanta is the knowledge the ends your search for knowledge. Is that just his paraphrase or is it an actual translation? wikipedia says "The name is a morphophonological form of Veda-anta = "Veda-end" = "the appendix to the Vedic hymns". It is also speculated that "Ved?nta" means "the purpose or goal [end] of the Vedas".[1] Vedanta can also be used as a noun to describe one who has mastered all four of the original Vedas."
So putting advaita (not two or nondual) together with vedanta, in JS's translation, would mean simply that knowing that nondualism is the case is the end of the search for knowledge?
BTW, I just enjoyed an interview of JS at Consciousness TV and now am listening to him at Buddha at the Gas Pump.
On the whole, the message I'm getting from him is that my middle class lifestyle is not going to cut it. Gotta go full retard.

Yes JS says that a lot and I also heard the same from other Vedanta teachers. I believe it's true. Knowledge normally begets knowledge but with absolute understanding of what is and how things are then their is no more need for any knowledge. This understanding at least from my own relationship with Vedanta does come and once it's there it's there for good..you will no longer see a snake but a simple rope. IOW since in truth you are the SELF you will begin to know the truth as it comes to you.

Reading and contemplating the Vedas would probably be something you find very useful and rewarding. Also, might want to check out the Pantanjali Sutras.

Sounds really difficult.

I think he means that discoveries have been made and they are replicate-able using protocols that are thousands of years old. IOW no need to re-invent the wheel when it comes to enlightenment it's all there in the Avaita Vedanta teachings. IT worked 2 thousand years ago and works the same today. Nowhereman

When you say he's your guru how does that manifest? Do you see him or talk to him often?

de nada..Well he's one of mt teachers. I guess the reason I like him so much has to do with his past which was a lot like my own. I have attached his auto-biography "Mystic by Default" it's a nice "enlightening" read. Nowhereman

sorry not sure why I keep getting double posts in this forum.. doublelicious! it's a glitch in the new software upgrade; happens to the best of us. When you click "Create Post" have some faith that it was indeed posted. Continue browsing or whatever in a different tab. If you get chagrined with the lack of refreshing happening and click "Create Post" again, there will be a duplicate post. In the other tab you open you should see your original get posted within a couple minutes. In any case, as you know, the delete option is always available.

I'm trying to find out if you've actually spoken to him or been in his presence or if you've reaped the rewards by reading and listening only. I can see why he's a good match for you, and this is great! I need to find the full retard middle class go to work everyday raise a family guru .
