I heard a gentleman's satsang where he spoke of this mental habit and the following came to mind. If you tell people this without providing them with a means to remove the blind fold what will happen? Whenever they resist the bad, they will resist resisting the bad. Just another layer of craziness. Just like this is.

Just another layer of craziness. Just like this is. Quite often advaitans appear to me like frogs trying to fly. They need a better propulsion system. The gentleman who gave the dubious advice above, tried to provide that. He talked about the notion of ND being simple versus complex, but not easy, actually rather hard. He spoke of Niz "abiding as I am" for three years. He described what that meant in simple terms, whenever you go for a thought train ride, think the thought "I am". Make "I am" the bookend for all thoughts. I find this infectuous like the hare krsna chant. Been doing this all morning.

Could well be or it could be mind recognizing that mental jiu jitsu alone can't get you there.

Isn't this the mind, using intellect, recognizing an infinite regression? Could well be or it could be mind recognizing that mental jiu jitsu alone can't get you there. Right, right .. it's an opportunity to notice a limit. That noticing .. that's self-inquiry. That noticing can reveal what Billy Shakes pointed to with "no good nor bad, but that thinking makes it so". There's the potential for a non-conceptual understanding of this that the thinking mind can neither grasp nor express. Thanks for sharing the process with us.
