We have a spiritual group in the place where we reside, Gentle Breeze. It's held every other Wednesday of the month in the house of each member of the group. A Catholic priest presides over this Bible reading group. A passage from the Bible is read. We get to discuss that passage with our testimonials and experiences based on that reading. The priest and group listens from one who wishes to speak. The thoughts coming out from each speaker we ponder and reflect.
I observed there's a difference in the time spent when one is the speaker and one is the listener. How time flies for the speaker when he's pouring his thoughts. How time goes slow from the one listening from that speech. The listener process the words/thoughts that come out from the mouth of the speaker /narrator sometimes spontaneously or in installments.
I try not to fidget. I act as though I am attentively listening. I just wanted to get it over with. When my turn to speak is made, the thoughts that come out from my mouth does not make a lot of sense to me. I know the thought is the thinker Maybe I just want the group to be pleased for saying something. After everyone has spoken, it's the priest's turn to say something done expertly in a spiritual way. The members of group nod at the words spoken.
Thoughts whatever these are occupy our time. The thoughts we accumulate determines the success and failure of the journey.

Sages point to freedom from thought as a preferable goal, but the depth of what they point to is rarely appreciated.

The absence of thoughts is much deeper. It can only be appreciated in total silence. Yet one can't stay that way. Thoughts appear which in themselves journeys to other worlds. Krsna says in the Bhagavad - Gita, "Always think of Me. Become My devotee. Surely, you will come to Me."

The goal is to embody knowledge, to be living in knowledge or knowing. And that can't be taught. It takes a realization. No one can give you that realization. And you can't make it happen either. Now what are you going to do?

How can you impart the technique of self - realization if you do not start learning from the thoughts/words from teachers of self - realization? Where did you get your knowledge if you don't read books which contain thoughts from the authors? What I am going to do? Read and learn from others who possess thoughts who put you into some journey. Self - realization? Where will you go. You need thoughts in finding your destination.

So how are you going to get hold of it? How can you even recognize it? What are you going to do now?

And why can't I not recognizes it? What am I going to what? The answers I bet you will give are /thoughts. Remember thought is the thinker. Besides the questions you are asking me to answer are also thoughts. You can't formulate questions without thinking, do you?

Maybe this makes more sense to you. JK is making my point here when he says: "Truth is something you cannot experience. It cannot be told to you. The word is not that. But if you live on words, it’s that. The word is not that, like the word ‘tree’ is not the tree. I can describe eternity, blah blah blah but the word is not that. But we are satisfied with the word…"

" Well, at least now we know that your inquiry wasn't sincere. Have a nice day! When you know Krsna, inquiries will no longer mean a thing. Because you already know. From the Narada Pancaratra, it says here, " All Vedic scriptures, rituals and their outcome can be summarized into only just 8 words: Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare." Have a nice day, too!

It's " Uha! Uha! Uha! " I enjoy asking people who are stuck on words and spend most of their time thinking, "If you were isolated on a desert island with no books of any kind, how could you find the living truth?" Hint: There's only one way, and it doesn't involve words or thoughts. Words are helpful as pointers, but they're not absolutely necessary. It's possible to find the truth without books or teachers. Books and teachers are only signposts that point to the ineffable. The wise look where the signposts are pointing, and don't get attached to the signage.
