Like Ramana Maharshi, the Ribhu Gita (one of his favorite texts to cite) takes a very hard line on thought and the world. They are totally, completely non-existent, and the enlightened one does not perceive them for even a second. Take these quotes as a small selection:
"There is no such thing as thought either. The thought that there is thought is itself nonexistent. The bhava [sense/feeling] of there being anything is nonexistent. The talk about the existence of the world is false."
"The duality of imaginary thought and absence of imaginary thought and the concept that it is the mind that thinks are all illusory. There is no doubt of this. I am Brahman. There is no uncertainty in this."
"Earlier, I had the misapprehension that I was the mind. Now, I am Brahman. I have reached the Supreme. All defects have fled away. All differences have met their dissolution. All the universe has fallen off. Thought has entirely gone away."
"I, indeed, am free from thought. I, indeed, am the happy Self."
"Differentiation in thought and differentiation of the world are entirely effects of ignorance."
"This phenomenal world, whatever little one hears or sees of it, the form that is seen, and the form of the seer are all like the horns of a hare. [i.e. utterly and absolutely non-existent and totally unreal]"
"The body also is unreal—unreal. The mind does not exist—does not exist, ever. The trivial does not exist—does not exist either. The entire world does not exist—does not exist. Beings do not exist, do not exist, either. All is non existent; there is no doubt about this."
"There is nothing in the least that I have to say; there is not a whisper that I have to hear. There is nothing ever so little to be thought of by me. One who is thus is called a jivanmukta. [enlightened one] There is nothing in the least to be experienced by me. There is not even an atom to be contemplated upon by me, nor is there anything to be remembered by me. One who is thus is called a jivanmukta."
