What to make of James Twyman? Anybody know him? I went to two or three of his residential workshops ten or so years ago, and they were a strange mixture - spoon-bending, indigo children, singing, stories. I found his mixture of charm and self-promotion quite endearing in a way but a bit unsettling. He has now started The Academy of Soul Manifestation. He used to have The Seminary of Spiritual Peacemaking, and before that the Beloved Community and the World Community of Saint Francis. This man re-invents himself at a startling speed! Mind you, the people who go to his events are often wonderful people to meet. Isn't it a shame though that spirituality is often McDonaldised? - constantly rebranding to find new markets.
