You meant to say environment as outer world? The mind is the environment for one to experience both inner and outer world . How can one experience the inner world without referencing the outer world . Therefore whatever one can be in experienced of will be of the mind . You are saying mind is looking at thought and outer world perception?

Perception is of the mind, 'what you are' is looking at the outer world and reflecting upon the inner world in relation to that which is perceived (or not perceived) .

Perceiver(what you are) is perceiving the perception. What else?Because the mind reflects what you are as being something whereas beyond mind doesn't . Beyond the mind reflections / self associations there is nothing present other than what you are that isn't anything / something . The mind is likened to being a mirror as mentioned before . self only exists within an environment where self can reflect / evaluate / perceive / sense / know .. Mind allows perception like the earths environment allows weather patterns . It's just designed to accommodate the experience of that . I have touched upon beyond perception / perceiver butt you kant relate to this . This is your stumbling block . There is only a perceiver of the mind .
