I suspect that most people on this forum would enjoy the recently-released movie, "Boyhood." I saw it last night with several people (all of whom were familiar with non-duality-related issues), and we agreed that the movie is quite remarkable in many ways. It was filmed over a twelve-year period on a small budget (about 3 million), and we get to see the main character (as well as his family) age throughout that period. The acting is excellent, the story holds one's attention, and the underlying message and final words are perfectly aligned with the theme of Tolle's TPON. Fortunately, the movie includes numerous other themes as well as insights concerning the power of cultural conditioning and the nature of contemporary society. Critics rate the movie 99% and viewers rate it 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. I can highly recommend it. It is amazing that the director was able to select six-year old actors who could remain interesting, appealing, and believable throughout the following twelve years of filming.

agreed Bob, the movie was engrossing. to see the characters, the children especially, grow older year by year was quite remarkable. the music told us what year we were in and anyone who has struggled with the meaning of it all would really enjoy this film. any person who is raising or is just in a family can relate to this film. it also explores single parent dynamocs from both the mother and father's side. what I didn't see in the film was any warmth or intimacy. any show of affection was at least twice removed from a hug or an 'I love you' but maybe that's my Italian background talking. all in all it was a great film, all 247 minutes of it. my brother hated it but what do brothers know?
