Hi, ive just joined and wanted to say hi to everyone. I`m based in England, in the midlands. My areas of interest are meditation tai chi, mantra, prayer and self development. I have been following this spiritual path for over 20 years now. I believe in god, and as well as working on my self and teaching I also follow avatars, this aspect of my spiritual path which is quite common in india, is less well appreciated in the west. I also teach martial arts, but its a spiritual type. One which harks back to the kwai chang cane kind of shaolin martial arts which was about linking the mind and body in order to develop the spirit.
Well thats me look forward to chatting god bless

Well thats me look forward to chatting god bless Welcome to the st.org forum Pete, thanks for introducing yourself. There is at least one other martial arts instructor / Tai Chi practitioner here and there are several of us that have an interest in meditation. I've got a sporadic sitting practice involving various different methods incorporated from reading over the past few years. Have you ever followed any type of pointer encouraging a 24/7-type practice of noticing or opening to awareness / shifting attention away from the conceptual?

Hi Laughter, yesd I use certain zen type methods , but rather than just staying in the now, the methods are used to appreciate being one with the divine at all times.

how does your God differ than all the rest and is it Female in Nature or another man-made one? Welcome to chattering. Hi Alfio, I dont really see the divine as male or female. I think god communicates with us as male or female or both depending on what will work best for us. I like the idea of a man made god, as I think god would use our man made concept, and work with us through it. thanks for the welcome

I figure, there are times that you really-see and times that you see what you think may be the case. For me, the God word arose due to Mankind's inability to figure out what is. ie, too-hard=God. No sooner man figures out something, "God only Knows" no longer is the saying. Gods differ due to the island conciousness of the culture that dreampt-up the God-Concept. Thus we have patriotism and religious wars. But what is Conciousness? ps, noice pic...you?
