Hey Rish. I just wanted to appologize for my completely un-called for rudeness the other day. I was WAY out of line. That being said, I'm noticing an interesting parallel between your recent musical contribution to the forum and the way I'm seeing reality these days. Hopefully this video can illustrate that parallel.

Oh, what rudeness are you talking about, Stillness? I've never noticed anything like that. You've always been the most friendly and amiable person on this forum! As for the video you posted, - yes, I agree about its main idea: life has no goal... And it's comparable to music in a sense. But I don't think we are just thoughtless slaves who must obey, and just take things as they are, and take this state of affairs as it is... We are created without our will, in the MANIFESTED world, that is the world of duality - and we have to play the role we are predestined for... And if we are humans who can have the ability to understand that - we should not simply play the role which we are given, - but to try to do our best in escaping the situation we are forced to arrive at : the situation of duality with its good and evil sides. Making the choice about good we inevitably have to destroy our evil side. Only in the ideal world we don't have to do that. But we cannot lie to ourselves that we are already in the ideal world. We can only dream about the ideal world when listening to the music...Music can give us the Channel to leave the duality and to learn about other Universes... which are so much different from the manifestation of the dualistic reality... and to come back to the Earth with the Knowledge... about what to do. Music shows us the potentiality of the whole Being... - which only seems to be existing, - but it disappears in the thin air every moment... Like the sounds of music... They keep on living as the potential from which they came and where they return.

This is a grandiose creation which transports the listener fantastically into another world. The 3 Divine Poem by Scriabin:

Great stuff Arisha thanks. Hard to go wrong with Sebastian or Amedaus ;D
One of the modern arrangements that never fails to move is quite the cliche:
I love the irony of the circumstances of the composition, in that such beauty could spring from such ugliness... he really does seem to convey a sort of reluctant resort to power ... a reassuring fellowship to one in despair and at the end of their rope.

But who is 'he', and what do you mean by that beauty, and what is that ugliness? Sorry, don't get it. Could you, please, explain it to me. I didn't understand what you wanted to say.

Why classical music and not the pop music or other types of music? What is special about classical music?
First of all classical music is not just for having fun while doing nothing and relaxing. If it is listened to just for having fun, - the most important message of it is simply lost and not heard. Because the message of classical music is much more sophisticated as compared to pop and other types of music. The message of it involves much deeper strata of the soul and of the Being. Relaxing, doing nothing, taking life as it is, - this is such a simplified approach in which a human is displaced to some lower position in life , - and becomes to look more and more simplified as those simpler forms of life he/she wants to be closer to: animals, plants, etc. Yeah, life is simple, life is just life, - like the life of ANY form of life in the world. Just life. Let's go down. Let's be simpler and simpler instead of being smarter, and more intellectual. Let's substitute the intelligence and the mind by the absence of thoughts. Let's be stupid, foolish, idiots to the utmost possible degree, - in this case we'll be closer and closer to life as it is, just simple life. Let's degrade. Let's go back to the life of Savages. We'll be happiiier!! We'll feel relaksksksed!! We'll be farrrrrting in each other faces because we wannnnt!! We'll be using women like the toilet because we wannnnt! Weeee aaareee freeeeeee!!! This is OUR culture, - don't even question it.
GOOD LUCK!
Classical music is the result of the development and long evolution of the human soul, spirit, human individuality (not individualization!), and the deepest, spiritual values. Deepest feelings. The deepest inner moves of our Higher Self. Listening to classical music involves the Heart and Mental activity, - when the Heart and the Mind are synchronized and start being one. Those two, which are different, - become the One! Isn't it what you are eager to learn about??
I doubt you desire any enlightenment, or whatever. You desire to be the first in the competition.
Classical music elevates our souls. But you want to degrade. You elevate farting. It is good, and natural and down to earth. You prefer vulgarization instead of self-education, and profanation instead of the development of your mind. But all is connected. If you stop your thoughts, you stop the development not only of your mind, but of your soul as well. All is connected. When the old masters said about the absence of thoughts, they meant something VERY much different from what you think about it. VERY much different. They did Right Action first and foremost. And all is connected. Right Acting influences the result when the thoughts are stopped. No Right Acting - no result, even if you become thoughtless.

I didn't understand what you wanted to say. oh sorry, ... by he I was referring to Aaron Copland. Was beauty the right word? ... hmmm ... maybe so, maybe not. Let me know if you're curious about the irony part! (the explanation would encompass the reference to ugliness...) (and thanks again for the links!)
