There exists very little outside help for a true seeker.

There exists very little outside help for a true seeker. That's good news, as it is the seeker that's is to die.

Is just looking-noticing a mental/physical exercise? (Honest question) Simply looking would entail remembering to look. One must also deal with the thoughts that come and go. If the mental impressions are too strong, simple looking is very sporadic. Those further along the spiritual path find it easy. Others must grapple with mental impressions constantly challenging such a boring hobby.
The higher forces are such that if one surrenders to them he will be shown what is right for him. There are Perfect Masters on our planet and elsewhere Who know nonlocally what a pilgrim needs at any given moment. However, to take advantage of this power, one must be totally receptive to whatever is shown, regardless of personal persuasions, preferences or expectations. This is the real meaning of prayer. Prayer requires total surrender to the answers which come as unexpected events in one's life. It can be as simple as a book on which one accidentally places his hand, or an fortunate event that would ordinarily be considered a catastrophe. Prayer can be a step ladder to the higher spiritual planes if one learns by practice how to use it.
Simple looking can bring about pure awareness but not infinite awareness. With infinite awareness one KNOWS everything -- every thought, every feeling, every action -- EVERYTHING. The true Masters know everyone's every thought....Infinitely Awesome.

Who do you know that knows everything? I mean actually knows as opposed to thinking they know? I honestly don't see how everything could fit inside of ones head No mortal being is omnipotent as far as I'm concerned. It would take more than a lifetime to retrieve the data of everything.

In reply to Smokey:
Thank you for your reply! It is indeed a boring hobby, but it seems nothing else works. I try to be open to whatever opportunities and events that arise, and it seems to help since it usually shows me something that brings me out of my comfort zone.
I would have to say I'm not very interested in any higher spiritual planes, or knowing everything everywhere. I don't want to be a master. At least I don't want to want to be a master.. hehe. I want to be able to be right here, and be content with that. Be content and at peace with what happens in my everyday life. Like, I'm sitting here looking at a tree outside, why do I think that I need anything else in this moment? I want to be able to relax and "go with the flow" without reflecting and second guessing every little thing..

Show me a person who knows everything and I will show you a phony. that's kind of a high bar for phoniness isn't it? surely you can spot one that knows a little less than that? hi, by the way. i know very little, approaching nothing, in fact, so no worries. but even those who claim to know nothing can be phonies, eh? and what is a phony anyway? someone who claims they are something they are not? that's a pretty big set.

If it did, that would already be happening. You want to be content with what's happening, but you aren't, so where is it going?

"and what is a phony anyway? someone who claims they are something they are not?" In that case we're all phonies

If it did, that would already be happening. You want to be content with what's happening, but you aren't, so where is it going? I think that's what he's saying, not reflecting, not second guessing, not engaging the mind. But that also includes the 'thought' that going with the flow results in peace and contentment. Without thought, the non physical mind cannot affect the physical body, and although the physical body doesn't know what peace and contentment is, it surrenders and dissolves into pure awareness.
